Hallo,

I saw CL 6 available for download.

Is it safe to install it over CL 5?

Will my license be accepted?

Will all settings be kept AND the next sync NOT change all items in DO?

I have been using it for a few weeks now and it seems to be working fine. While it is still in Beta your existing licence will work fine.

I think I clicked on "trial expired" and it accepted the existing licence and took across all my settings without any problems.

Remember however it is a Beta release, use it at your own risk but it seems stable enough to me.

Michael, We've set the "Cutoff" date for CL5 to CL6 free updates as October 1, 2012 (a year ago).

I notice your original purchase was in 2012 but a bit before October, so in appreciation for your testing it all out I have updated your license info so it will work for CL6.

All the settings will be kept and the next sync will not change items in DejaOffice. This is more a UI update, with the same engine underneath. The new code affects ACT! v16, and also there is a new "plugin" for Outlook.

DJOCTO,

many thanks for your courtesy!

I'll keep on testing! :-)

Is this plugin described anywhere? What does it do?

Tim, the Outlook "Plugin" just puts CompanionLink Settings and CompanionLink Sync into the Outlook 2007 and higher toolbar.

Fixes in companionlink.exe 11/22/2013 build 6006
Fixed an issue where Birthdays would sync even if No Mapping was selected

Hm, same bug as in CL 5.xx two years ago ... this frightens me from updating....

How about the "anniversary day" field?

(FYI: When syncing with 2 PCs, calendar entries are made by each (!) outlook and therefore there will be double entries in DO and then ion both PCs, if this field mapping is not disabled on one PC).
