Truncation of Palm Desktop address data

Thanks for your great effort on trying to give the (smart)phones the core smartness of my Palm device. I still can't understand why the phone (software) manufacturers do not include features which are on the market as long as HTTP 1.0 in their (smart)phones but call their devices the next generation and the full replacement of PIM handheld devices.

The bigger is my thank to you guys. I really like your suite (DJO and CompanionLink) and without it I would not have switched to an Android phone.

But now comparing my current contacts to an old backup before using CompanionLink I found one limitation in DJO: Is there any intention to have the street field in DJO limited
    • to a single line?
    • to 100 characters?

Palm Desktop offers multiple lines for the street which is really helpful in case you have to address a department or building complex of a bigger organisation (clinic or university) and the street address alone would only help the postman but not the internal post office of the building.

CompanionLink successfully synchronises multi-line street entries from the Palm Desktop to DJO but I wonder whether I can also enter a multi-line street entry in DJO. The multi-line entries from the Palm Desktop are correctly represented as multi-line addresses when viewing the entry in DJO but when editing the street field it's represented as a single line and I can not see which special character is used as line break character (which must be there as it's also correctly synchronised with the Palm Desktop).

And even if the multi-line street data entry is not possible in DJO, would it be possible to enlarge the field to 256 characters? Or at least do not cut off the field in Palm Desktop to 100 characters when synchronising.

    Thanks,
    Jrgen
