Since I have my HTC I am learning to do more things like that because my husband has an Iphone and said I should try and learn to do it myself.
I now know more about android phones than he does. So he is no help anymore. And I am proud of myself for learning it.

    I use windows XP.
Lexie it is a joy to work with you on this.
PS I did get all your log files. Thank you.

Hi. Now after 4 days of simple life I have this trouble again =(((

What I did to avoid any understandable situation:
    1. Always safe unmount sd card
    2. After every backup (when CL says "press ok on device") I run scipt to backup current version of companionlink.db

As a result. This problem is now here again. But I have a backup of companionlink.db right after PC sync but before DjO opens it. So this DB contains source of trouble, I think.
For security reason I can't send this DB to developers, sorry =( (there is work information in DB, too).
I look into this DB using SQlite Database Browser, and see almost the same DB as it was in the morning (I have backups for last 5 sync operations).
Can I help you in any way to investigate this problem? This is very annoying to set up and sync from scratch every time this happens.

    Mar00k,

We are working on this. I appreciate your willingness to help. Thank you.
If our dev team has any requests I will pass them on.

I have new idea about this bug.

Maybe this happens only on next sync after user click on "read android data" button? I don't know exactly, but I quetly shure that this trouble appears every time when I have some troubles syncing dejacontacts with android contacts and tap on "read android data" to be shure that everything is up-to-date.

I sync dejacontacts with android contacts, but dejacalendar doesn't synced with android calendar.

Lexie, can you confirm this idea? Do you tap on "read android data" and after next sync DjO DB was cleared?

Unfortunetly that is not it either since I never do use the 'read android data' because my contacts almost never change.

I still hope that the logfiles I sent well show what went wrong.
But I know it takes time to shift through them and if in the mean time my DJO would empty again I will immediately send them the logfiles of that.
But I am a participant on two art faires this weekend so I do not have the time to sync.
This will have to wait until Monday and then I am on it again.

    Well, one more hint.

I was thinking that this trouble is something related with syncing between android contacts and DjO.
So I swith off DjO sync with android contacts and calendar. And after 2 days this trouble is here. Again.

As far as I see this trouble can be only in:
    1. Companionlink sync issues. Latest idea - new feature "optimized update sync". Switch it off to test how it is.
    2. How DjO reads it's data after sync. I pretty shure that DjO should say something like "Unhandled exception, corrupted DB, line of code XXX" But as far as DjO doesn't show anything, maybe this is DjO bug...

I don't sync with android calander only with android contacts and I as far as I remember I have tried that also; switching sync with android contacts off.

    1. I do use CompanionLink 4.0 for Palm Desktop & Pimlical 4044 and this has no feature "optimized update sync" so for me that is not an issue.
    2. That I don't know. Maybe Thomas could give you an answer.

I just keep syncing my phone once a day and am waiting for it to happen again so I can send the logfiles to Thomas.
They are investigating the succesfull sync logfiles with the ones where I had some problems but not the emptying of DJO.
That hasn't happened since I started logging.
Which figures...but before it could also take more than 10+ syncs before it happened again. It is difficult because there is no regular schedule in it. So difficult to reproduce.
    But I keep on it.

Thank you, Lexie. You are right. Empty DB is not because of "Optimized update sync"...

I swith it off after posting previous post. And now this "Empty DB" bug is here again. So now I absolutely shure it's something inside DjO.

Thomas, are there any news? This bug is very annoying. As far as I use PC-to-Android 1 way sync, it dowsn't lead to any data loss, but makes sync operations be like russian roulette.

    Mar00k,
I know you are absolutely convinced this is a DJO issue. It very well may be the case. However I have over 6,000 active installs of Gingerbread worldwide, and you and Lexie are the only two reporting this problem. We are however continuing to work on the issue. I can't promise a time frame for getting it fixed but yes, my team is working on this.

    Thank you, Thomas.

I very interested in this bug fixing, not in finding "who is right here".

Very interesting information about we 2 are the only people who experienced this bug. I shure I saw it on my old G1. Now it sold, but i was trying to use gingerbread on it for 3 days before selling. And saw this trouble 1 time. With different sd card. But same companionlink with the same settings. ok, will try to completely reinstall CL on computer, maybe trouble somewhere there.
