Thread: All-Day events in DejaToday

    All-Day events in DejaToday

    Hello,

all-day events in the calendar part of DejaToday and the 4x4 widget are displayed not at the top of the day. E.g. today the all-day event is displayed between a 10:30 am event and a 2pm event.
Maybe this is a problem of my time zone (CET/UTC+1h).

Is this a bug or just a configuration problem?

    Regards
    Malte

I already documented this error a long time ago in an earlier version of DO.

I think that (in my timezone) all day events are internally saved to 13:00 or 14:00 instead of 00:00.
So due to the sorting by time all day events are listed in the middle of the day.

Now in DO 2.3.1 I again have the error that all day events with alarm (set to 0 minutes before) don't kick off the alarm at 00:00 or when the phone is switched on in the morning, but at 13:00 or 14:00. I assume that this behaviour has the same reason.

Here all day events should be saved (and internally represented) to 00:00 in every (!) timezone.

    Regards
    Arno

    Arno,

Agreed. Was there a change in behavior associated with the DST change in Europe over the last weekend? Or is this behavior consistent regardless of Time change?

The problem is there regardless of Time change.

I (only!) assume that the 13:00 or 14:00 results of the time when the all day event has been entered the first time. Perhaps when this was at a date with summertime (about end of March till end of October) it is represented as 13:00 and an event entered during wintertime shows at 14:00 (or vice versa). I don't remember when I entered these events and I also don't remember if these have been entered in DJO or in Outlook.

Also all day events (again) kick off the alarm at 13:00 or 14:00 instead of 00:00 or immediately after switching on the phone in the morning.

This error had been resolved in an earlier version (perhaps 2.2.11 or older) and now rises again in 2.3.1

So I'll stay at DO 2.2.x, even 2.3.1 is "declared" to be not "beta" anymore ...

Are there any news from the developers about this error?
Is there a time when this will be fixed?
Today again I missed an alarm in the morning which came too late at 13:00.

Also the display order (in list view or in DejaToday) should be corrected so that all day events are displayed in top of the list (so to say at 00:00 independent of any timezone) and not at 13:00 or 14:00.

    Please help!
    Regards, Arno

Please try the DejaOffice 2.3.2 beta for this. There should be a fix for this in there.

I can respond much faster to your questions about DejaOffice if you include the following information in your Signature:
    Mobile Device and OS
    DejaOffice version#
    CompanionLink build #
Data Manager App (Outlook ACT! PalmDesktop etc..)
    Sync Method with CompanionLink
DejaOffice Sync Settings for Contacts and Calendar. - Please include the "Account" Selected to Sync with for Contacts and or Calendar.
Also - Please avoid using terms like, "Latest Update", that can mean too many things. Version # is greatly appreciated.

Sorry, for me DejaOffice 2.3.2 beta (371) did not change anything concerning the display order of all day events in DejaToday or the 4x4 widget.

The display order is correct in list view (but I don't know if this was correct in older versions, because I don't use list view).

Malte (mvscheven) is right: neither in DejaToday nor in 4x4 widget the display order has been corrected.

Will check next Monday if alarm time has been corrected.
