Outlook Task Recurrence versus DO - Possible feature request

I did a search and did not find this specific issue.

I like to use the Outlook task recurrence pattern of 'regenerate' task once marked complete and then move task if I don't complete on the specific date. But once I sync the task it gets changed to DO recurrence. When I then move the task in Outlook a second entry for that task is created after the recurrence period, e.g.,

'Outlook task' regenerate 7 days after completed -> sync -> DO task with 7 day recurrence

Move task 1 day in Outlook -> sync -> now have 'Outlook task' in DO and then also 7 days later, both of them inwork.

Please add a DO task recurrence pattern so this does not happen

Yes, please add this! This has been driving me nuts and I just figured out it was because of this incongruency between DJO and Outlook (so my Tasks keep getting all screwed up). I really hope this can be added in the future.

Yeah, I was surprised when I realized that DJO did not yet support the "Regenerate Task" pattern, since DJO does such a good job of mimicking Outlook in other ways. Adding this in seems like a no-brainer.

I should add that I think that something to do with this is contributing to some Tasks disappearing. What I've been noticing is that at least some Tasks that are configured in Outlook to Regenerate Task N Days After Complete are ending up being deleted in Outlook (and not regenerated) if I complete the Task in DJO. At this point I'm just trying to not complete Tasks in DJO (unless they are stand-alone tasks) because I'm never sure if they'll survive, and if they do, they end up altered in ways I don't like (as mentioned above). It may be that the contributing factor for the ones that get deleted (and not regenerated) is if I change the Due Date in DJO (I'm not 100% sure on that--it is just a hunch, as I think I may have done that with some of the ones that have gotten deleted).

@DJOCTO, Is this on the "list" to get fixed at some point?

I just discovered a bunch more of my Tasks have been corrupted by this defect. Unfortunately, in some cases I lose data because it destroys the recurrence pattern completely (eg, I don't always remember how many days, weeks, etc. I had it set to regenerate after).

This is being worked on now.

Please note it will require an update both to DejaOffice and also CompanionLink. Non regenerated tasks (recurring tasks) are not affected.

For 2.5.4 and higher, be sure to grab CompanionLink 6 (new version) to get this feature. Estimated delivery around Oct 1, 2013.

That makes total sense, and thanks for specifying all that. I will watch for CL 6.
