Updated to D.J.O. 2.5.4 and get an extra calendar icon

    Hello,

I have updated my DJO to 2.5.4 and since then I have an extra icon in my list.
That means on my phone as well as on the Nexus 7.

I know I am knittpicking, but I like my lists to be as short as possible and I use the DJO icon to get access to my calendar or I use the widget.
So this Dejacalendar icon is not a needed addition for me.

Is it possible to deactivate this extra Dejacalendar icon in settings?

Only synchronised DJO contacts with native contacts once with 'read android data'.

Nexus 7, Android 4.3, not yet installed DJO

When you say "on your list," what list are you referring to? If you mean icons on one of your home screens, it sounds like you accidentally called up one of the shortcuts. Just remove it.

If you are talking about having an extra icon on the DJO desktop, I haven't seen that.
Sadly, I can no longer use CL or DJO as I have replaced Outlook with Thunderbird and Pimlical Desktop. Pimlical, since moving to Java 8 is no longer compatible with Companion Link. I will lurk about just because I am interested. Please let me know if the Pimlical compatibility problem ever changes and thanks to all here for your support and help over the years. Hello Hook,

    Thank you for your reply.

I do mean the apps list on my Nexus 7 and HTC desire HD.
I looked at the djo shortcuts and that's not it. Because it is not activated.
On the Nexus when I try to delete the dejacalendar icon I get a message stating if I am sure that I want to delete djo.

I just did try something on the nexus. I do get this problem with update 2.5.4 and 2.5.5. But when I reinstall 2.5.3 the dejacalendar icon does not appear. I have not checked this on my phone since all my data is in that djo.

O, and I haven't changed any settings of DJO on the Nexus.
I just downloaded it and haven't changed a thing.

I haven't had the time to figure out how to sync both my phone and nexus without any risk.
Need a free sunday to experiment safely with it

Ah, I see what you mean. The icon is in the App drawer. I never saw it because I only ever go into the app drawer to pull out the icons I need on a home screen. Because of that it wouldn't bother me much. I can see it being handy for someone who is very calendar-centric, but not sure why they did it. I guess we'll have to wait for the DJO folks to respond.

By the way, having both your phone and your Nexus sync is easy since you have CL Pro. Just give each a different profile and you are pretty much set. I use Outlook, not Palm Desktop, but CL should handle the conduit flag stuff, or whatever they call it, just fine.

    Hello Hook,

I am glad you saw it too. It is not a big problem,, but I would love to turn it of since I don't use it.

Thanks for your encouragement. Maybe I will give it a try next weekend.
To be on the safe side I first like to make backups of everything sothat I always have my original data.
That has saved me in the past, because I am not that good with computerstuff and there were some mix ups.
But I learned a lot from that and from this forum. So I am not a green as I was when I first joined this forum.

Even my husband, an IT specialist, is proud of me today
(He refused to do my phone because he wanted me to learn to do it myself. And it worked. I even explained a few things to him when he changed from an Iphone to android )

    Thanks for your help,

Ironically, I'm a fan of this new functionality, and I actually would like it if there were icons for each of the subapps in DJO (eg, Contacts, Tasks, Today, etc.) as it makes them more accessible in certain apps (such as Swapps). But I understand this is not desirable for everyone, so an option to turn it off for those that don't want it is fine with me.

You can add all the sub-apps to your desktop. Go to the Android Desktop and long-press to add a Widget. Go to the Widgets list, and select DejaOffice 1x1. When you add this, it will pop a menu with all the app possibilities.

As for App Drawer, I'm mystified. But I also don't have a Nexus 7 on my desk. It is probably Android OS Specific. The team is looking into this.

We added Multitasking and this is a side effect. The extra icon will go away soon.

@DJOCTO: Just to clarify for you, I was referencing the problem I describe in the following post, wherein I talk about how the DJO subapps aren't available to be added to Swapps. They do show up in the Recent list of Swapps, but even then they don't have their distinct icons (ie, they all have the same DJO icon, instead of Calendar having the calendar icon, Contacts -> contacts icon, etc.).

It is great that the DJO shortcuts can be added to the Android Desktop, and I definitely make use of that. But they aren't accessible to other apps that way. If you want to reply regarding all this it's probably best to reply to my above thread--I wasn't meaning to hijack the current thread.
