Cloud Sync Doesn't Sync to My Phone - Sometimes

Occasionally, when I make a change to a task in Outlook, the change doesn't sync to my phone. CompanionLink does sync it to the cloud. I can do a manual sync on my phone and the change is then sync'ed. I have to reboot the phone to get the sync to work properly. It will work for a day or two and then it doesn't sync again. I can't find any pattern to the failure. Any ideas?
    PC: Windows 7, 64 bit
CompanionLink build #: Companionlink 7 for Outlook, Build 8019.7
Data Manager App: Outlook 2010 64-bit
    Mobile Device: Samsung Galaxy Note 8 (SM-N950F);
    OS: Android 7.1.1, Build #: N950FXXU1AQKG
    DejaOffice version#: 4_4_7_1069
    Sync Method with CompanionLink: DejaCloud
DejaOffice Sync Settings for Contacts: Selected, sync with Android, Account = DejaOffice.
DejaOffice Sync Settings for Calendar: Not selected.
    Native Contacts Account: DejaOffice

I'll talk to the programmer on this. The cloud sync uses two protocols. HTTPS moves the data. But it uses XMPP to signal that there's a change. It may be that XMPP is going down for some reason.

Please be sure if you are on Wi-Fi that you don't have port 5222 blocked. This will block the XMPP. I think the system restarts XMPP every few hours, but we'll double check that.

Port 5222 is not blocked. If it was blocked, then it would never work, right? Anyway, like I said, it works for a day or two and then stops pushing changes to my phone until I reboot. If no one else is having this problem, maybe it's my phone that has a problem.

That's a great theory, but your phone is the same as mine Note 4. I'll talk to the developer about it...

What he would want most is:
    1. Turn on logging
    2. Wait until there's a definitive change. Check in DejaOffice CRM Live to see that it is there, but not on the phone.
    3. Then send the log.

When you Sync from DJOL, do changes after that come through (i.e. next PC Change?)

I do this all the time, but tend not to pay too much attention. So I'll look closely for anything I can find.

No. I can make multiple changes in Outlook and they sync to DJOL but not to the phone. I have to reboot the phone to get the sync working again.

Ok. I got this far on mine. Instead of rebooting the phone, all you need to do is to go to DejaOffice, hit "Exit", then restart it.

The Exit button on the main menu does more than it indicates. It actually clears all memory and restarts the background processes. This re-establishes XMPP.

It definitly looks like XMPP is getting lost. I'll talk to the developer about auto-establishing it.

I had the sync problem again and I hit Exit and restarted it, but it did not sync with DJOL after that. I had to make a change to Outlook for all the changes to sync. (I would think that a sync on the phone would probably would have had the same result.) Anyway, after that any changes to Outlook then synced to the phone. No reboot required. Looking forward to a fix for this, but I'm in no hurry since there is a work-a-around. Thanks.

Eagle 3, my developer says he fixed something. it's in our inhouse build, if you want it:

    http://www.dejaoffice.com/androidapp...DejaOffice.apk.

It should be in the beta within a week or so. Thanks for reporting this.

I tried the inhouse build 693 and I still have the same problem.

However, I found the problem. On the phone, when I go to Recent Apps and tap on Close All or swipe away the DJO apps, it no longer syncs with DJOL. So it appears that XMPP is getting lost when I do this. Hope this helps.
