    Hi Martin

Unless you are on a old version you should be able to enter and address by tapping on the line in the address section. If you tap on the magnifying glass it will start a search on the up to date versions.

Please go to Google Play and check you have the latest release which is 3.1.3 on Google Play.

Let us know how you get on.

    Regards

Often inconvenient to be forced to use Google & approved addresses

I have not found a way to enter into Contacts the address which I want to use. If offline, no address is accepted. If online, only Google approved addresses are accepted. As there are 100 million unofficial addresses out there, not to mention my own quick location descriptions, this is highly inconvenient. Pressing address bar does not free up entry, in my experience. I have latest DejaOffice on a G/Note 4.

I have same problem. Tapping on address bar only gives you Google options. If you have no internet connection or wish to use your own description, it deletes it instead of saving. Very frustrating, and in my opinion, pointless. There are 100 million unofficial addresses out there, Contacts needs to accept non-Google ones.

    Angry

I am still using the latest Version 3.1.3
Just as Packer wrote, i cant type the adress ind the adress-bar because it is always deleted.
I am even unable to edit an existing adress.

I installed the update to 3.2.2 (686) beta.
The Problem is still the same.

Whatever I enter there is transmitted to google - which is not allowed regarding german laws (!)

when I type discard all entered data is lost.

How can I deactivate this annoying google-stuff ???

Thanks DJOCTO, the latest beta version DOES work better in the CONTACTS address bar. However, it requires quite a bit of probing around to get the right entry window to show. After phone is set offline, just pressing the address bar causes the same Google seeking behaviour as before. However, pressing screen on the right side about 3/4 of way up, but below the Google emblem, eventually brings up a conventional address entry field: number, street, city etc, and it seems to accept anything entered. I.e. does not require every box filled with address consistent info. So, problem seems to be solved.

Hi there is a setting in "General Settings " to make Location Picker Automatic or Manual. Set this to Manual. This should help if you have successfully updated to 3.2.2 build 686.

    Hope this helps
