alarm on recurring task dissappears when dismissing single task

Create a recurring (daily) task with an alarm on it.
When alarm triggers DISMISS the alarm
    Mark task as done
Look at task which is now for next day and you'll see the alarm isn't on there anymore.

Can you make DJO only dismiss the current instance alarm for recurring tasks please?

Maybe edit the task (or do you mean calendar item?), select this instance only, then delete it.

I do wish that dismissing an alarm in DJO didn't turn it off, just stopped it from the alert. My Palm PDAs worked that way. I use alarms too much for minor to-dos, and could just stop the alert and later move the item to a later time or day and the alarm would still be active.

Well, I learned a few things after writing the above - upon checking I found that Tasks can also be recurring and have alarms set. I just never used that in my many years using the Palm PDAs. I didn't check to see if you can edit and delete only the current instance of a task.

You can. Just choose Delete and it will popup a box with choices 'all/this instance only/future instances' or something close to that.

Make sure not to Dismiss alarms on recurring tasks though, 'cos then they're gone on the entire series

That makes sense, that alarms in both Calendar and Tasks work the same way. Thanks

I don't seem to be having the same problem on my setup.

Just been trying this out on my tablet. Setup a recurring daily task with alarm. When the alarm came up I dismissed it then completed the task for today, then a box popped up about generating new task for tomorrow. On going into the task via DejaTasks, tomorrow's task appears to have an alarm set at the same time tomorrow as today's task.

Looking forward to seeing what happens at 13.15 tomorrow when the alarm is due.

Frans, the programmer says this is related to the sync process. DejaCloud Sync is so fast, it is getting mixed up on the alarm ring status. That is; it's synchronizing the ring status right away, and then failing to update properly when the dust settles.

The reason Cecil doesn't see it is because Wi-Fi sync is a slower process.

Developer says we fixed this a week ago or so, and the inhouse build will fix it: https://www.dejaoffice.com/androidap...DejaOffice.apk

DJOCTO's reply confirms my suspicion that the problem was associated with the setup on individual devices. I can stop my experiments now.
