Question Sync Status simply hangs! grrrrr

We have two phones in this household the same. We also have:

    1. On my laptop computer running Windows 10, CompanionLink for Outlook V. (Build 7036)
    2. Samsung Galaxy S8 (Model SM-G950F)
    3. Android v. 7.0
    4. Samsung Experience Version 8.1
    5. Last Android security patch level: 1 August 2017

On my phone, I'm running DejaOffice 4.3.6 (build 1002).

(I'm not sure what information is necessary, so I'm giving everything I can think of!!)

All the settings are right for wifi sync but when I press "Synch" on the right hand bottom button, it says "Reading Android Calendar" then stops at 1 on one phone, and 327 on the other. The only way I can stop it is to start Task Manager on the computer and kill it there. "Cancel" simply doesn't work.

The frustrating thing is that it was working beautifully until (I think) the last update.

    Any ideas please??

Have also tried Direct USB and that's not working either.

You could try reinstalling an earlier version to prove that it works on that.

I think you need to enable install from Unknown Sources on your device to allow the install, remember to reset this as soon as you have completed the DJO install. You may also need to uninstall the current version first, your data will be left behind for the replacement to pick up.

    Thanks ...

Hi Cecil, and thanks for this. I have already lodged a ticket with DejaOffice support people so between you and them, hopefully, things will get working again.

    I'll let you know.

    Cheers, Colleen

Hi - I ultimately put a support request into the DejaOffice people and got this reply:

    Hello Colleen,

Thank you for using DejaOffice. Please update your CompanionLink software on the PC then perform the steps below and let us know if the issue persists.

Let's go ahead and clear out all of the settings used by CompanionLink (bearing in mind that you will need to reconfigure it, once these steps are complete). Please perform the following steps:

    1. Open up CompanionLink.

    2. Press 'CTRL,' 'Shift' and 'D.' An explorer Window will open. Close CompanionLink.

    3. Create a new folder on your desktop called CL Settings Old

    4. Return to the explorer Window opened in step (2) above.

    5. Highlight and cut (not copy) and paste all of the files in this window and paste them into the CL Settings Old folder you created in step 3

    6. Open CompanionLink and reconfigure your sync settings as needed.

    Does this resolve your issue?

It certainly did fix the issue! Very happy camper here ...

Thanks for your advice Cecil - I appreciated you taking the time.
