Angry Problems with Sync after upgrade to CL8

Wow! After 5 years of relatively smooth sailing between Outlook and DejaOffice on a Droid Razr Maxx, Samsung S5 and S7 I cannot believe the trouble I've had since upgrading to CL8. First of all I could not get the paid download to install correctly and trying to get to support was hard. Matt tried to help and but got nowhere and said he would send the issue up to the next level but I never heard back. I called again and left a message and finally emailed support again. Amy L. sent me a .zip file with a support ticket (LRW-975-59936: OL AND vUSB - no sync after upgrade to CL8)
I was able to install it but have not had a decent sync since. In fact I now have many duplicate contact and calendar entries. The DEDUPE utility works fine on Outlook but the process seems worthless when trying to eliminate the duplicates on the phone.
I've been using direct USB for the last 3 years but no with no current success. I even tried the WiFi sync and while it looked the phone and the PC were, in fact, paired there was still no successful sync.
I recall having a problem several years ago and when I contacted support the tech remotely connected to my PC and was able to see the problem and correct it but that was several years ago.
And I find it hard to believe that DJOCTO would feel this situation is acceptable.

    RJLOMMD Thanks for the message

Are you really using CLO to synchronize 3 phones with USB? I would not expect that to work.

CLO has only one profile. To synchronize 3 phones you need 3 profiles. which requires CompanionLink Professional. I'll assume you are only doing one phone.

I see from the ticket. We use an MSI installer (Microsoft Required System). On your computer, your MSI system is corrupt. It gives an error 1721. Here are some instructions to clean it. Viruses commonly cause corruption in the Windows system so this is not unusual.

My registration server looks like you registered CL8 fine on Oct 21, after a brief bout with CL7. So maybe it was just an issue finding the CL8 download. In the future, CL8 will prompt for updates and they auto-install. So we finally got that in place. I show that as of Oct 30 you are on B8004 which is a good build.

Mondays we have been way behind. Trying to get folks to show up...

As I mentioned earlier, you really want a multiple profile system to handle multiple phones.

    > but the process seems worthless when trying to eliminate the duplicates on the phone.

I'm not sure whether Dedupe works with the remote database using USB. I'll send that to development. Until then, you'll need to dedupe the Outlook side, and then do a wipe sync to the phone.

Probably worked for you when you had one phone, but not when you tried to sync a second phone on the same profile.

Chris will call today. If you really want to do 3 phones, then you'll need to set up profiles. I'll upgrade your license so you can do CompanionLink Pro.

Thank you for your reply. Let me first clear up a misunderstanding which comes from my awkward phrasing. Currently I only have the S7 Edge. In the past since using DJO I had a Razr Maxx from 2012-14 which was replaced by the S5 in 2014 which was in 2016 replaced by an S7 Edge (Verizon's Every 2 Year upgrade). I'm not at home now but should be back in a couple of hours. I will follow your instructions then and repost. This is just frustrating because of what I've come to expect from DJO/CL. And when I stopped by last year I said that this software (product and support) was fantastic!ry
