Local WiFi Sync : Connection to DejaOffice was lost

I recently upgraded to a new computer, and installed CompanionLink Pro.

I'm syncing, and the first sync went fine, but the last two got the above message, with no explanation.

How can we debug why this is happening?

This is still happening with the latest version of DejaOffice and CompanionLink Pro.

This happens every time I sync if I haven't synced recently (or at least since I woke the computer from sleep), but doesn't happen after that.

What might be happening that the initial sync fails, but the 2nd one doesn't, consistently?

EDIT: It looks like this may be somewhat connected to whether CompanionLink launches Outlook to do its work or not. When I run it the first time, Outlook is launched, and STAYS launched (as I've mentioned before, which seems to be a problem). However, if I sync after it's sitting there launched, THEN the sync succeeds. Why would this make any difference? I suspect some kind of timeout needs to be longer, especially as the failure happens when the sync is almost complete.

      Tim,

For the sync to work both CompanionLink would need to be open on the PC and DejaOffice on the phone. A few things here, you can set CompanionLink to launch at PC startup under the Settings > Advanced and General Tab. Enable Run at Startup, Secondly Android has been increasing the app policing their Battery Monitor is doing to close open apps in the Background. Use this guide to ensure that DejaOffice is on the Unmonitored App List:

Well, of COURSE CompanionLink is running when I sync, and of COURSE DejaOffice is open on the phone. Ya know, I've been using these apps for many, many years, so I know how that works. ;-)

The battery thing could be the issue, so I'll look into that, though, and report back.

Actually, I don't think the battery settings have anything to do with it. This happens when the phone is plugged in and all battery optimizations are disabled. :-/

Any other ideas? Should I contact support?
