So I upgraded my computer, and like a doofus deleted my old C: drive (it was late, I was tired, and I forgot that I hadn't backed up my Outlook.pst).
I have a backup from January 2019, and my last sync with my phone before I upgraded my computer was a week or so ago (and I synced it back 1 year, so I have from October 2019 on the phone, minus "Deleted" and "Deceased" folders for contacts I didn't sync (the backup has the Deleted folder, though an older version of it of course).
So I have an Outlook.pst file that goes from The Beginning Of History until January 2019, and I have DejaOffice with data starting from October 2019 to the present.
What I want to do is to combine the two, such that I retain everything that's in the Outlook.pst file, but where changes on the phone overwrite changes in the PST file.
Since there is no data on the phone prior to October 2019, should I just set the number of days to sync back to October 2019, and set sync to "Phone overwrites Outlook" for conflicts in that date range? Ideally there'd be a "Clear Outlook Data (but only in this date range) before sync". I guess I could try to do that manually, by opening the PST file in Outlook and deleting everything starting from when the data in my phone starts. Not sure how that would work with repeating or future events.
Besides the lesson I learned, which is "always backup everything before an upgrade, and don't stay up too late such that my mind is too addled to pay attention to what I'm doing", does anyone have a suggestion as to the best way to do what I want to do?
PS I tried to recover the old PST file from my old system drive, but I found that I did a hard reformat on it, so the files are all gone. :-(
