Why does CompanionLink identify my Android device by its gmail account?

When I do a local wifi sync, and pair my Android device with CompanionLink, it always identifies the phone by my gmail account address.

Why is that? Shouldn't it be identifying it by the device id shown in the sync settings in DejaOffice?

    Tim,

This is just what the phone returns to us since every android is connected to a Google account. In the Wifi settings if you click Enter IP, you will see the "device name" we generate is actually being used.
