    USB Sync not starting

I am using Samsung S20 FE Android phone and Windows 11 laptop. I am syncing via USB cable between DJO and Outlook 2021.

    1) Since my data is only being synced locally and NOT to the cloud, why does the folder have to be "public" and what does "public" mean? I.e., my purpose of using USB is to keep my data private.

    2) Sometimes when I connect the cable and click sync in DJO on the phone, it will connect and start syncing immediately with my laptop. Other times when I click on sync in DJO, it hangs up and CompanionLink on my laptop does not show the syncing process.

I am really wanting to make the purchase of CompanionLink but had issues with syncing many years ago with a diferent phone and laptop, so I want to make absolutely certain I'm not going to have issues after I pay for it again. I only have a few days trial left.

    Perfect,

For Question 1, this is just for the Local Backups DejaOffice makes. These are still local, but due to Android Changes a while back, our data folder is now in a Sandboxed area on the phone, which means if you uninstall the App the Backups are lost too. This new setting allows the backups to persist through an uninstall of the app, but according to Android's rules the user has to allow access manually to be able to use a folder out side the app data folder.

For Question 2, this could be due to the Cable, the Port, the Phone getting Bumped when its plugged in which cause a reconnect. With USB there are alot of process between the sync. I might suggest Local Wifi sync, this is still a "local" 1:1 sync directly between the device and the PC, but it just uses the local Wifi, which is alot more "direct" in internal processes than USB sync.
