DJOA / Windows PC Sync with Outlook (classic): calendar items sınc with alarm set

    Using:
DejaOffice 4.4.61 (build 1699) for Android
Companionlink build 11006 for Windows (W10 Pro)
syncing between DJOA and Outlook (classic 2019) both directions.
    Sync method: USB Packet

I enter a new calendar item in DJOA where (by default) Alarm ist set to "No Alarm", i.e. off.
Then I sync with PC, after that in Outlook the item appears, but with alarm set to "0 minutes" instead of "off" or "none".

I did not have this bug for years up to and including CL build 10046, where I used Direct USB (Mass Storage Mode) sync. Everything was fine.
Now I did an upgrade to CL 11006 and switched from "Direct USB" to "USB Packet" Sync and the problems started.

So far I don't know if this is due to the new version CL11 or due to the other sync method, I did not have the time to analyse.
Please check and advise, thank you.

    Kind regards

    Arno,

Thank you for the report. Looks like this is just an issue with the Packet Sync. We were able to replicate this inhouse and has been sent up to our developers to resolve. I will reply with a fix as soon as I have one

      Amo,

I have a small update with a fix for this issue. On the PC use this link to install:

      https://www.companionlink.com/files/...ink11_beta.exe

Once installed, try making a new event in Android with No Alarm, sync to Outlook and check it has No Alarm.

        Thomas,

thank you very much for your quick reply.
The beta release you sent me does indeed fix the error.

Sorry, but the bug HAS NOT been fixed:

my above issue was with syncing both directions, but I always add/delete/change calendar items on my mobile so the important sync direction was Android -> Outlook, this obviously has been fixed in 11008.

But now I had to delete all Android calendar Items and then did a full sync Outlook -> Android, Outlook primary database, "reread Outlook".
Result are many (!) items with alarm set to "0 minutes" instead of "no alarm".

I have more than 20.000 items and could not check many of them, but it seems, that the error occurs if:
          - calendar item is a series i.e. recurring event
          - item is (from date of sync) in the future.
Older single events or non-recurring items correctly have alarm set to "none".

I would be glad, if this could be fixed, thank you.

          Best regards

              Protel,

I have another small update with some further tweaks for this issue. On the Phone use the following link to run a direct update to DejaOffice:

              https://www.dejaoffice.com/androidap...DejaOffice.apk

Some phone browsers can have some trouble downloading the file, so if the "Chrome" browser does not work, try downloading with the "Internet" Browser.

Once downloaded tap the Download Complete notification to open the installer and choose Install\Update. Reopen DejaOffice and confirm the build in the bottom left is now 4.4.61 (1713). If so try adding a new event to the PC and sync, does it appear with the correct No Alarm?

              NOTE:
If your Android phone displays an "Install blocked" message, do the following:
              1) Tap "Settings".
              2) Check the box for "Unknown sources".
              3) Tap "OK", then restart the installation.

                Thomas,

I double checked, that in Outlook I do NOT have any calendar items with alarm set. ALL my items are "no alarm".

                First attempt:
full sync Outlook -> Android, Outlook primary database, "reread Outlook", "delete calendar on Android before sync"
This did NOT work, again I had items with alarm set to "0 minutes", especially in recurring events.

                Second attempt:
manually delete all calendar items in DJO on Android, then:
full sync Outlook -> Android, Outlook primary database, "reread Outlook", BUT WITHOUT "delete calendar on Android before sync"
This seems to work, (could not check all >20.000 items), but alarm is set to "none".

                BUT:
Search function in DJO calendar does not display events which have been synced from Outlook in above manner. (So because I deleted the calendar before sync, search displays NOTHING.)
Only calendar items which have been entered in DJO after the sync are displayed during search.

Is there a way to get the search function to work correctly again or is this broken in your DejaOffice.apk?
