Outlook "To-do list" tasks not syncing

    Hi,

I'm just on a 14-day trial of Dejaoffice and CompanionLink. Everything seems to be working correctly except for tasks.

My Outlook has nothing in its default "tasks" folder, instead all the tasks are showing up in a "To-Do list" of tasks. I can't find any way to sync this to the Dejaoffice tasks view.

Does anybody know if this is possible?

    Thanks,

    Myx

    Hello,

Welcome to the forums. The Outlook "To Do" list will not sync. In order to sync tasks they must be in the actual Tasks folder rather than the Outlook To Do list.

Well that kind of kills the tasks feature, since that's where Outlook puts any email I flag for follow up, and those are the only tasks I use.

Is there no way for Dejaoffice to sync those as well? It seems to have everything else.

Myxiplx, Thanks for the reminder. We had started implementing this feature some time ago, but it got lost between the developers.

The feature is: For Outlook To-Do Items that are not tasks (i.e. Flagged Contacts) synchronize them as a) Alarms and b) Some sort of next action or item on the task list.

Look for this in DJOA (Android) first, in April 2016, and DJOI (iPhone) in a month or two.

Was the Flagged Contacts feature ever implemented for Android? If so, I don't seem to be able to find how to activate it.

We haven't done anything with flagged contacts.

For the DejaToday view - the contacts shown are those that are linked to Calendar and Tasks for that day. So in effect, including a contact on an event or task will "flag" them as far as DejaToday goes.

But I've long thought we should have a Starred contacts or something that would mark a short-list out for various tasks. Looking at other tools, Salesforce flags are temporarly - you flag a couple contacts and take an action. We do this with the "Select Multiple" feature.

What would you do with Flagged Contacts?

In Outlook, I enter the contact with a client in the notes for that client and then set a follow-up flag for when I should next contact that person. It appears in the Outlook To-Do List so I can easily see who I need to contact each day. I use CompanionLink and Dejaoffice to sync my Outlook information between my office computer, my phone, and my travel computer. Without the Flagged Contacts feature, I cannot see that I need to follow-up with a client if I am away from my office computer because it does not copy to the phone and then from the phone to the travel computer.

Oh I get it. Our name for that is Outlook Flagged Contacts.

This is a CL Change. Right now, CompanionLink scans the Task table in Outlook. This change would require CompanionLink to scan Contacts and Calendar looking for the flagged items. So potentially it will increase the sync time for tasks by 4 times, and realtime sync checkins by two additional checkins (Contacts, Calendar, Tasks, Notes, Flagged Contacts, Flagged Email, and Flagged Calendar).

This has long been on our request list. We are working on CompanionLink 9 now so I'll see if we can get these extra scans put in.

In addition to the task list, we'll look at actually synchronizing the flag attribute for Contacts, and Calendar.

That sounds great. Do you have a projected release date for CL 9?

                      KHardesty and Myx,

We have added To-Do list sync for Flagged Emails to Tasks. You will need our latest CompanionLink 9:
