    DejaDesktop not reliably updating from Google Calendar or advancing Day/Date

    I purchased DejaDesktop for my 99 year old mother on 4/28, Invoice #81015665635, and have been having recurring issues with it not updating with changes in Google Calendar. Also, it regularly doesn’t even update the current day displayed, showing the calendar for 1, 2 or more days prior to the current day/date. Sometimes logging out and back in forces updates. One time, redoing authorization with Google fixed the problem(it had not been 30 days yet since originally setting up synchronization with Google Calendar, and Google says the authorization is supposed to be good for 30-90 days). Yesterday(Wednesday) when it was not showing a few changes that had been made to Google Calendar – even hours after the changes were made(Deja Desktop is configured to synchronize frequently) - I tried logging out and back in, rebooting the computer and resetting authorization, even though Google said that the connection was still authorized. Today, Friday, it is still showing the current day as Wed, May 28, and none of the calendar updates have synchronized. I know that she has an Internet connection, because I currently have a remote connection into her PC from out of state. Her PC shows the correct date and time in the taskbar, as does Google Calendar, which I have open.

    We purchased your product to reduce the number of calls we get from my mother asking when we will be visiting or when other events are scheduled. As of now, your product is making things more confusing for her, not less. Please provide a solution for these problems with Google Calendar synchronization and advancing of current Day/Date ASAP.

    We have DejaDesktop running on a Dell Laptop with 16GB of RAM, and Windows 10 Professional, which is up to date with Microsoft Updates. This PC does have Norton Small Business installed, and has Norton VPN running.

      How do I see the response you provided to the support ticket I submitted? In fact, I don't remember opening a support ticket. Are you referring to the email I sent to support@dejadesktop.com? If so, I have no record of a response. When I do a search for DejaDesktop, the only email I have from your company is the order confirmation on 4/28, and yes, I checked my Junk email folder. Do you have a trouble tracking system that I can log into and see the progress being reported?

      Some other issues I have:

      1. We added some overnight aids to her calendar, and in DejaDesktop they are showing as all day. In thinking about it, it may be that when the aids were 7PM to 7AM, they didn't show as all day, but when they were changed to 8PM to 8AM, now they do. I just changed the time for the overnight aid tonight to 7PM -7AM again, the desktop calendar updated and now the aide doesn't show at all in the desktop calendar.
      2. I had added an appointment as all day, and the title for the overnight aide is obscuring the text for the all day appointment
      3. Is none of the desktop calendar interactive? The full day shown to the left of the current month just shows 8AM to 7PM(which apparently doesn't include scheduled items that start at 7PM). Is it possible to adjust the time span that is displayed for the full day? - Never mind, I found the setting - but even extending the day end time to 10PM, the overnight aid does not show up at all if scheduled for 7PM-7AM. I just changed the time to 8PM-8AM, and now it still doesn't show up - not sure if that is due to DejaDesktop not synchronizing with Google Calendar, or not. When I added another full day to the view, Friday now shows the ovenight aide as all day. I tried extending the hours viewed to 8AM-10PM and, while 2 hours were added to the day view, the 8PM-8AM aide is not shown at all for today, and is shown as all day for tomorrow(Friday). It sure looks like the logic for how overnight calendar entries are displayed in DejaDesktop is messed up..

        Tom,

        Look for a ticket response on the day you sent it from companionlink.com or dejaoffice.com

        We use those domains for emailing, not dejedesktop.
