Cannot get contacts from Outlook et al..

    Hello All,
I am a new user of DJO which I am attempting to run on a Motorola Atrix. I have some issues that I hope you all might help me with.

First of all the Android OS is 2.2.1, CompanionLink is Version 4 (Build 4034), DOJ is Version 1.10.9
I am sync-ing using WIFI. On occasion I CompanionLink MFC will stop running and terminate. I looked the event log which indicates an exception code of 0x0000005 with fault offset of 0x00003c1d. This generally happens after a sync. My system is running Vista and is on the latest patch.

Next, the calendar sync does not seem to work reliably. Sometimes nothing is transferred and nothing shows in the calendar on the Atrix. Additionally, there seems to be a problem handling reoccurring events. Sometimes it works and sometimes is doesn't. In one particular case I extended a reoccurring event by a couple of days in Outlook, but it never showed up on either DOJ or Android calendars. One other item with calendars, when they are sync-ed I get several alarms for overdue past events (sort of annoying).

Also, I am not getting any contacts from Outlook. I have tried to purge and reload and reread Outlook data to no avail.

On the other hand, tasks seem to be sync-ing okay.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi Inichoalds,

Thank you so much for this thorough report. We apologize for any inconvenience.
If I am hearing you correctly regarding recurring events you are specifically referring to recurring events that have been edited in Outlook. Correct?
When CompanionLink MFC stops running did you restart your Computer?

Regarding Contacts not syncing. Can you please specify the exact setting you have in CompanionLink Setup App:
    1. Open CompanionLink Setup
    2. Select Outlook Settings and the Applications Tab and specify What is selected for Contacts.
Also select the Outlook Folders Tab and verify the correct folder is selected.

Thank you for your reply. You are correct regarding the editing of the reoccurring events. However, I have seen a case where I added an entirely new reoccurring event and it never showed up on the DOJ, but then again as this morning event a single event is not showing up on my Atrix.

As to when CompanionLink MFC stopped running, it did not restart my computer. It only displayed the message and I clicked the OK button. I then looked in the application log.

      Here are my CompanionLink setting:
      Outlook settings -> Applications :
Contact is checked, Outlook to Android
Calendar is checked, Outlook to Android
Tasks is checked, Output to Android
Notes is checked, Output to Android

In Primary Database area: Outlook is the primary, records deleted in Android will be ignored.

      In the Outlook Folders area:
Contact Folder is Personal Folders: Contact (no other option available), did not check the Include Subfolders
Calendar Folder is Personal Folders: Calendar (no other option available), did not check the Include Subfolders
Task Folder is Personal Folders: Tasks (no other option available), did not check the Include Subfolders
Notes Folder is Personal Folders: Notes (no other option available), did not check the Include Subfolders

      Thank you again.

Just to close out this thread, the reason that I was having sync-ing problems was because of the filter feature under the Outlook settings. I had to make sure that I was not filtering out any Outlook feature. Under the Category filter tab, I am using the All Categories option, but you could also use the Selected Categories and unselect everything in the "Apply to these applications".

Glad things are working out for you! Thanks for tying up the loose end.
