1.12.xbeta not showing all all day events in calendar day view

Have tested with 1.12.0beta and 1.12.1beta:

If I have more than one all day event in calendar not all of them show in day view.

It seems that if there is an event which is recurring once a year (for example a birthday) this event is left out and is only shown when it is a sole all day event.

Didn't check in other views (week view,...) but this error may be the same in other views.

Please check and bugfix.

This is real estate issue. We had to make some tough decision on this one. Day view should show up to 4 all day events.

Dayview only partial, w/ no scroll

New user here from just an hour ago. Maybe I missed it, however can I possibly see all the events for the one day? I could not get the day view to scroll up or down. It did show me all calendar items from 5am til 1pm, then everything from 1 to 11pm did not show. Additionally, the day view showed tomorrow 9/3, not today 9/2. Can I make some setting change?

up to 4 all day events may be ok.

But the error is, when there are only 2 (!) all day events: one single or recurring once a week and the other recurring once a year, then the latter one doesn't show.

I am looking at this again. A preliminary check did not produce the issue you reported. Switching to an HTC device in German to check. THis may take me a while to track down but I will report back asap.

today I have 3 all day events, one of them recurring once a year on same date, the other two recurring every week on Monday, the latter two ones are with alarm.

In day view only the first one (recurring once a year) is shown, same in week view.
In month view only one of the other events is shown.
In list view all three events are shown.

Working on reproducing this on our end. Initial efforts do not generate this behavior by simply creating the events in DejaOffice.
I used a five minute alarm for events 2 and 3.
Were these synced over?

I have 0 minutes alarm everywhere and yes, everything is synced to Outlook. (These events are older, so I don't remember if I entered these in DJO or in Outlook first. But because of several upgrades (DJO 1.11.x to 1.12.x and CL4 to CL5) I did a purge and reload, so everything now comes from Outlook)

only an addition: I sent you my database and protocol as email.

One thing I told you was wrong: there are not three recurring events on the 3rd October.

Instead (and that is right now) one event is a single (non recurring) all day event and has no alarm.
The other two ones are recurring weekly on Monday and have alarm set to 0 minutes.
The single event has a category assigned, the two recurring ones don't have a category.

Hope this helps finding out why only the single event is shown in day view and in week view.

Seems that if there is a mixture of all day events (concerning the recurrence pattern or even no recurrence) then not all events are shown in day and week view.

did you meanwhile check this on 3rd October, same happens to 17th October and many other dates.
I mostly use day view so it is dangerous when I miss an all day event because it is not shown.
When may I expect a fix?

Yesterday (Thursday) I had two all day events (no category set at all). One of them recurring once a week on each Thursday, the other one recurring every day.
Directly after sync I opened day view calendar for Thursday (via shortcut from HTC Sense desktop). There only the "every day recurring" event has been displayed.
Then in day view I swept left to change to Wednesday and back again to Thursday: hurra both events have been displayed!

Please have a look at this.

This is likely due to the application loading the database while you were viewing the calendar right after a sync.
I will have a look at it.
I can also suggest using the "Rebuild Calendar Display" option in the DejaOffice Calendar Settings menu if the the events do not display in a reasonable amount of time.

Hi Thomas,

I remember that after a sync when I enter a calendar view I get the message "Calendar display is rebuilt" and then the view is displayed. At this time I had only one all day event displayed. For a test I let this view open for several minutes and I expected when display rebuilding has finished in the background the display would be refreshed and show both events.

Obviously this is not right and the refresh is only done manually when I (for example) change the displayed day back and forth. I didn't test the "Rebuild Calendar Display" option but I think it doesn't help, I think it is a refresh problem after rebuilding display.
