Which outlook contact field gets generally synced to android 2.3: "file as"?

I see that syncing outlook contacts to my HTC Wirdfire with Android 2.2.1 the field "file as" gets generally synced to the field "Display Name" in the Android DB.

So if i have "Company, First Name Surname" in the "file as" field in outlook the same sorting is saved to the display name of android contacts.

Is this the same with android 2.3 (and higher) phones ?

Are you talking about DejaOffice or native Android?
With Companionlink, the "Save As" from Outlook is synced to the "Save As" in DejaOffice which is a separate field in the DJO database.
IIRC, this gets synced to the "Display Name" of the native Android contacts, if this is set up in the DJO preferences and activated.
Google Pixel, Android 10 German, DJO 4.4.32 (1221)
Office: Win10 x64, Outlook 365 (v2020, up to date) German, CL Express 7062 --- Local WiFi sync --- manual syncing, daily
Home: Win10 x64, Outlook 365 (v2020, up to date) German, CL Express 7062 --- Local WiFi sync --- manual syncing, occasionally
Syncing to native Android contacts (DJO account), not syncing to native Android calendar

Thanks! Yes, i'm talking about native android db.

In my phone DejaOffice synchronizes the outlook field "file as" to the "display name" independantly of what i set in "DejaOffice / Contacts / Sort by".
What about your phone with android 2.3.3. Could you please check that the sorting order of DejaOffice contacts gets synced to the native android "display name" exactly as it is set in DJO.Is a "company name" part of the "display name" on your phone when the sorting order of DJO contacts is set to "file as" and you sync a contact from outlook consisting of a "company + first name + surname"?

I feel like you are mixing up 2 things here.

        1. Companionlink synchronizes from OL to the DejaOffice database on the Android.
If you did not change the default mapping in CL on the PC, the "Save As" from OL is synced to a separate field in the DJO database on the Android.

        2. Displaying in the list and its sorting order in DJO can be set to whatever you like (Name, Company, Save as ...).

        3. The native Android contact database does not have a "Save As" field - at least not on my device. So DJO does/can not really sync this field to the native android contacts. What you set as display and sort order in the native contacts is independent from DJO ans well as from CL.

I do not have a "save as" field in my android native db either. But when i sync outlook contacts by CL (through DJO) to my android native db, i get as the result of the sync the same content and sorting in the field "display name" of android native db as in the outlook "save as" field.
So this means that DJO writes the content of its own field "save as" to the field "display name" of the android native db.

Is this the same with your phone?

IMHO, and at least on my device: Nope - would not make any sense anyway.
What you see in native contacts listing is as simple as copying Last Name and First Name together with a colon in between, and this is done by the native contact app. It has no influence what I set as display/sort order in DJO.

Ok, thanks, so it seems not possible to get a "company" as a "display name" in android on your phone in the case you have only a company name in outlook without any "first- and sur names"?
What about saving and phoning all the numbers for hotlines, services, support, hotels, administration, restaurants, theater and other companies where you do not bother about personal names? Not possible to get them correctly synced to the android native db?

I'll need to check that ... currently have no such entries ... takes some time.

Actually, the Android contact app does what you want, on its own. It shows the company name in the listing if no name is in a contact record.
However, you could have been testing this by yourself easily ...
