I am new to forums so please bear with me. I have over 3,000 contacts in my Palm Desktop software. I use CL to sync my Palm contacts to my Android phone via DejaOffice. There are times when I have to press "Read Android Data" in DJO on my phone. When I do this it takes several hours to complete. Is this normal? Also, while using the "Read Android Data" button it seems the process of syncing to my native Android Contacts will stop before done and not all contacts will be in my native contacts. I believe it stops when I receive a call or when the native android data base is being accessed while syncing, thus stopping the sync. Thanks for any and all help. I am a huge fan of Palm Desktop and so far have been very happy with DejaOffice and CompanionLink.

Hello Sweede,
Welcome to the forums and to answer you question, no sync should take hours.
Lets cover a few basic things to see if we can find a solution to this.
I have a few questions for you:
First is most important and may be the cause of the issue. If the read Android Data icon is availble then it means you are Syncing Contacts and or Calendar with the Native Android apps:
Have you turned off Goggle Sync for Contacts and Calendar on your Android Phone?
Please do this if you have not already.
If that does not resolve the issue please answer the following questions:
What Android device Model and OS are you using?
What version of DejaOffice is installed?
What build # of CompanionLink is installed on your PC Desktop?
What version of Palm Desktop is Installed on your PC?
What Sync Method do you use?

Thomas - Thanks for answering my post so quickly.
Here are the answers to the questions you gave me:
-Google Sync - the only check marked box is "Sync Gmail". Contacts, Calendar, and Books are not checked.
-Device is Droid Bionic and OS is Android Version 2.3.4
-Version of DJO is 1.12.3
-Build for CL is 5004
-Version of Palm is 4.2
-Sync method is Direct USB v4
Thanks for helping me.

I have had to deal with the same problem: with my big Contacts file (4100), syncing with Android Native Contacts literally takes hours. Consequently, I don’t do that very often. But, there are some uses of the native app that I like to use, so I do that full sync every month or so.
Partial fix: You can manually ERASE the Android Contacts data that is stored in the device by the following: Home -> Settings -> Applications -> Manage Applications -> All -> Contacts Storage. With these contacts erased, the first, lengthy, step in the “sync with Android Contacts app” is eliminated and saves me 2-3 hours. Hours.

The Bionic is a relatively new device and we are actively working on some reported problems with it. I saw one bug we are working on that is similar but not the exact issue you are reporting.
We can try to reproduce this behavior inhouse and see of we can find discover why the process is taking so long.
