Syncing Daja Office with Native Anroid

I'm trying to help my wife set up her new phone (Droid Razr).

She's installed Deja Office and Companion Link and successfully synced her Windows Outlook contacts with Deja Office contacts. But, the native Android apps do not recognize these contacts. So, for example, incoming calls or texts are not tagged with the contact name. Also, I suspect the various available voice command/dialer apps will not work when the contacts are not in the native Android Contacts app.

What do you recommend for resolving this? It's not clear to me, if we change the Companion Link settings to sync with the Android Contacts app, what that does to other features in Deja Office. The Classroom article seems to advise against this, but I was not sure what other options exist.

    Hi mauricec,

We advise against syncing the DejaOffice calendar with the native calendar, as this can sometimes have trouble with advanced recurrence patterns, but contacts are pretty safe.

Just be aware that if you sync the DejaOffice contacts with the native Google contacts account, they may end up syncing with your Google account as well. If you want to avoid this, select the local phone account instead.

DejaOffice <---> native Android on HTC Sensation

      Hello,

I have the same question as mauricec,

I would like to sync DejaOffice contacts <---> native Android contacts on HTC Sensation (I already sync with Palm Desktop through Companionlink).
But on my HTC Sensation, the DejaOffice sync type menu does not show "native phone". I only have a choice between my google account, another account, Weather (?!), Stocks (?!) and News (?!).

      What can I do ?

      Thanks,

      Yves

You can use the Google account. My HTC Desire S does not show the phone contacts and I am using the Google account as well.
IMPORTANT: You need to make absolutely sure to turn off syncing the Google account to the Google cloud in the Android settings before activating the native sync option in DJO!
Google Pixel, Android 10 German, DJO 4.4.32 (1221)
Office: Win10 x64, Outlook 365 (v2020, up to date) German, CL Express 7062 --- Local WiFi sync --- manual syncing, daily
Home: Win10 x64, Outlook 365 (v2020, up to date) German, CL Express 7062 --- Local WiFi sync --- manual syncing, occasionally
Syncing to native Android contacts (DJO account), not syncing to native Android calendar
