Alarm indicator icon: bigger? more vivid?

In the day view, calendar entries having alarms (reminders) set will display a tiny little bell icon.
The bell icon is pale yellow, surrounded by a thin black outline, and it is very tiny.

Is there any way to make this icon larger?
Can it have a more vivid color, so that it is easily visible agains the gray/blue color of the calendar entry background?
Can an alternate method be used to indicate the presence of an alarm, such as a thicker outline around the calendar entry, or perhaps even a different color for that outline?

(I'm just brainstorming here on possibilities -- the bottom line is, I'd like to be able to see the presence of an alarm, in an easier way than what is currently available)

Thanks for the notes. The whole notification system is getting updated in the next major release so we are working on it now. I'll take your notes to the design team.
