    Syncing with two Android devices

I'm using DO for over a year with my Note 2 and it's a fine piece of software.
Now I'm considering to get an additional Android tablet. Of course there should be my PIM data from my Outlook PC. Again I don't want my personal data in some cloud so I prefer offline sync via WLAN.
Is it possible to sync from one Outlook PC to two Android devices? I couldn't find any settings for that in CL.

    Greetings, Halweg

    You need CL Express.
CompanionLink Express lets you synchronize with 2 devices using the Profiles feature.

btw: You can get a lower upgrade price.
Google Pixel, Android 10 German, DJO 4.4.32 (1221)
Office: Win10 x64, Outlook 365 (v2020, up to date) German, CL Express 7062 --- Local WiFi sync --- manual syncing, daily
Home: Win10 x64, Outlook 365 (v2020, up to date) German, CL Express 7062 --- Local WiFi sync --- manual syncing, occasionally
Syncing to native Android contacts (DJO account), not syncing to native Android calendar

      Thanks for the fast answer.
Is there any special documentation concerning multiple syncing?
What means "lower upgrade price"? Lower than $ 40? I remember any special offers... May be I should buy it in advance as soon as an offer occurs ...

        Greetings, Halweg
I think McLion was just referring to the $40 upgrade price compared to the $80 list price.

I sync to two devices using profiles (I actually have Pro and do a few other sync tricks including a profile for experimental purposes ). It is pretty straight forward. You set up each profile for a specific device, exactly as you would for any single device using Companion Link for Outlook (which actually uses a profile, but just one). If changes are made on one device, those changes are synced to Outlook and will be later synced to the other device. I'm pretty careful about not making changes to the same item on more than one device before syncing, but I believe in that case CL would use the time stamp do determine which is the latest change and use that everywhere.

Essentially, the profiles makes each sync event independent. When you sync either device to Outlook, it behaves as and uses the safe rules as any normal sync with CL for Outlook. When you sync the other device, the same thing. Outlook will always reflect the latest synced changes from either device.

        Hope this helps.

Thanks. As I understood this process has nothing special and so a special documentation is not needed.

            Hi Halweg

You just set up a profile for each device. On my original set up I had problems with my PC using DejaConnect (driver conflicts, nothing to do with Companionlink) so ended up with the set up shown on my signature below. The latest versions of Companionlink 6.0 Express have "Handling Conflicts" option which is useful if you work on two devices. Previously I had to be careful what I changed on each device not to create duplicate events.

            Hope this helps.

Conflict handling? This is so important! It could be a rason to switch to CL Express without having two devices.
It seems the same like with DO: the best features are undocumented.

                  Thanks a lot, DJOCTO.
How do I upgrade to CLX?
                  I installed clx60setup.exe (Build 6014) over my clo60setup (Build 6012) but I don't see any differences.
In the upgrade dialog I see "Purchase found for CLX50", does this mean that I have to "downgrade" to get CLX50?

I'm sure DJOCTO will be along with more complete answers, but I suspect you have had a CLO50 license that was good for version 6 and thus, you were upgraded to CLX50.

You won't see much of a difference at all, except that you will have a second profile available. I believe where you see what device you are syncing with, you will have a dropdown which should include an option to manage profiles. There you can create a second profile for your other device. Anything else will be in settings, and you'll have more CRMs you can choose to sync with in any profile, but there won't be a lot of differences.

I'm at work, so I don't have CL installed to refer to.

Thanks Hook for explanation. But It really seems there are no differences except the Build-Number (now 6014). Nothing about some "new syncing profile", the name of my device is just "android" ...
But yes, it may be I have to downgrade if I want to get CLX.
