Cleared Recurring activities cluttering Task LIst

Anyone seen problem of old / cleared activities showing up on Deja Task or Today....showing up as "past due" when in fact they are cleared. Only seems to be happening for "recurring activities".
For example - I have birthday reminders scheduled as recurring annually, and ALL of them (past years) are showing up in Deja Task or Today.

Only way to get rid of past / cleared dates is to uncheck "show overdue" activities. This is not a solution as then I cannot see ACTUAL past due tasks.

    Ideas?
    Thanks

    Pjt-

To clarify, when you see "ALL of them (past years)" are you seeing all the events in a list on DejaToday or when you attempt to complete this task it cycles to the next year on the task?

Also, what PIM are you syncing with and with with sync method?

I'm sure this is just a cleared record visibility thing. I have sent it to the programmer to get it fixed. In particular, cleared tasks show in DejaToday Widget and That is to be fixed in the 3.1 release (real soon now).

This happened to me, too, until I figured out the problem. I would clear the items on my phone, and when they kept popping back up, I would go in and mark the task complete, but that didn't work because a recurring item just returns with a newer date. Then, I figured out how to go into the task and actually delete the entire thing. Until the next day it popped up again!!
I finally figured out that it was returning because when I was syncing with Outlook, Outlook would bring the task back. I finally deleted them fully in both the phone and Outlook, and now they are fully gone and have not reappeared for 3 days.

I may have discovered a interim work-around....whereby if I turn the "Show task" filter to anything that doesn't include "overdue" then these past-dated recurring events do not appear. It is only when I have "Overdue" or "all" selected that they show up.
Also - when you choose this - it links to the Widget - so it works for that too.

It is still a problem in my view as these are not "uncleared" activities - have been cleared in ACT (my PIM) some times many years ago. Also, I'm not convinced that I am not missing something with this selection (i.e. maybe there is a legitimate "overdue" activity that I am filtering out - just for a work-around).

          tks

            Just a thought:

Have you recently updated your ACT program? Have you converted an earlier version of the database to say ACT 16?

If you have, there may have been a problem in the conversion process. I know that when I upgraded from ACT 6 to ACT 16 there were issues such as some recurring events which disappeared.

If this is the case you probably have to go through these entries on your phone to clear them again.

Another thing to consider is how many past days you are syncing. I know some people like to have many years calendar data on their phone. Reduce this if you can.
