"Waiting for native sync to complete on device" message

    Hi all,

I'm a noob here and couldn't find the answer to this through the search feature, so forgive me if I'm asking something that has already been answered.

I recently downloaded updates to both DejaOffice and CompanionLink and changed some of the configuration settings. I am synching to Outlook over WiFi. I have my DejaOffice on Galaxy S3 configured to synch both the contacts and the notes to the native Android Contacts and Android Notes applications. Now when I attempt to synch, I am getting the following message from CompanionLink. If I wait, the message eventually goes away, but the sync never runs.

If I open DejaOffice - Read Android Data, the sync will work, but the "Read Android Data" process takes a long time (>45 minutes) and renders my phone useless while running.

Help? Shouldn't the native sync operation run automatically when I add new contacts or notes?

    DeadMoneyDrew, welcome to the forum.

The process is "Phase 3" which is writing to Android Contacts. This can be REALLY SLOW for the first time. Sometimes it is hard to get it populated if you have more than about 4000 contacts, since this is beyond the design limit of Android Contacts.

Your screen snapshot is CL5. We recently did some key changes to Wi-Fi sync. I think you will be much happier upgrading to CL 6 which is the current version.

The upgrade is free if you bought CL5 in the last 18 months. Check your status here: http://www.companionlink.com/downloads/upgrade.php

If it is not free, you can get an upgrade price which is much lower than the retail price. Click a blue upgrade button on this screen: https://secure.companionlink.com/buynow/

Finally, I would suggest calling tech support to help with populating the native contacts on your phone. I'm guessing there is a complication; either you have a lot of data, or your are synchronizing to google or something, that is causing the "Phase 3" process to run long. They can help you out. Thanks. I downloaded the update to CL6.

I'll contact tech support some time in the next few days. The native sync is still taking forever, and it takes a long time every single time it runs. For now I will disable the synching.
