Ability to transfer calendar items to the journal.

mjwilliamsmj welcome to the forum.

Click on the Calendar event, then from the "..." context menu select "Complete".

OR - Long press on the event, and from the context menu select "Complete".

This will complete the calendar item, move it from Calendar to Journal.
