Bug: "create EVENT copy" for TASKS, "create TASK copy" for EVENTS

The menu entries seems to be mixed.

BTW, copy & paste of whole day events does not work.

This is right. From tasks, Create "Event" copy will make a calendar event from the Task.

To create a Task event, as a copy, simply choose "Copy".

I’m not seeing anything obviously wrong with copy/paste of all-day events. Seems to create the new record correctly without crashing. I tried an all-day as well as a 24 hour duration record, both copy/pasted fine. Is there more info on what you see wrong with it?

      Ok, I see.

In day-view, I click (tap) on the event and hold.
      I choose "Copy"
I change to the day, I'd like to insert the copy.
I choose the Android "option" button and choose "Paste".
I get "Fetching calendar data" (in German: Kalender Daten werden abgeholt ...")
      ... an nothing happens ....

On the "old" day, there is only one event. On the "new" day, there's no event ...

        Hi Michael

        I have tried this out,

Tap and hold an all day event and select "Copy"

Go to the day you want and tap and hold the "All Day" area at the top of the day and select "Paste"

This is working for me on build 640 which is the latest on Google Play.

        Update

I tried using "Go to Date", if you try this, it does not work even if you select the "All Day" area.

However if you use the calendars on the bottom of the screen to navigate to the date and tap and hold "All Day" area the event will paste correctly.

          Hi Michael,

Do you have DejaOffice set to sync with the native Android calendar (DejaOffice > Settings > Sync Settings > "Sync with Android Calendar App")? If so, are you able to replicate the issue with this option disabled?

            Cecil,

I was unable to reproduce this on my device. Is it resolved by the "Rebuild Calendar Display" option in DejaOffice > Settings > DejaCalendar Settings? If not, what other details can you provide regarding this function not working? Do you receive an error message, etc?

              Hi Kevin

Have just tried "Rebuild Calendar Display" and this seems to have solved the problem.

Before, after choosing a date from Go to Date, I was simply unable to select the "all day" section of the Day calendar (no error messages displayed), I could select a time in the rest of the Day Calendar and paste there with a default slot of 1 hour timed according to where I had tapped. Since the "Rebuild Calendar Display" I am now able to select the "All day" area on the day calendar view and paste the all day event successfully.

I know these comments apply to my phone and I think they apply to the tablet also not certain how it was working before "rebuild". Both devices now seem to working properly.

Now off to delete the "Test" events from my phone and tablet.

And what should I do, if there is already a "all day event" and there's no free space of this area left?

                  Hi Michael

There is an easy workaround, simply paste in a free area on the required day, then open the event to edit it and check the "All Day " box and save. You will now see two events side by side in the "All Day " area in the calendar.

                    Hi Michael

Even easier, in Calendar Settings you can set the number of rows in All Day to 1,2 or 3 rows. If you often have multiple All Day events this will suit you.

On a smaller screen you can stick with my first suggestion. Select Full or 1 Day in "Days in day view " in Calendar settings maximize viewing width making it easier to view details on single row.

There are so many settings and options available it is hard remember them all, but this what makes DJO such a versatile app.
