Alarms no longer popping up in Android 4.4.4

I am running version 640 of DejaOffice on my Droid Maxx on Android 4.4.4. A few weeks ago, I got a DejaOffice update, and at that time calendar reminder alarms stopped popping up on my phone...they simply go to my notification area where they are never seen. How do I get the notifications to pop up to the screen so that I have to snooze, dismiss, or ignore them in order to proceed on to anything else? This has practically ruined the usefulness of calendar reminders for me.

    Thanks.

    Hi

There seems to be a known issue with build 640, see thread below. I think there is an update due shortly.

In the interim try going into Alarm settings and selecting Android 2.0 alarm notifications instead Android 4.1 to see if this helps. I have to use 2.0 on my S3 mini phone to get persistent alarms, so I know it works for me.

A reboot of the phone solves the alarm issue for some time. It seems somewhere the alarm system gets stuck, after a reboot I got alarm for the day before
This was with v2 alarms, so it doesn't solve the issue by itself.

Is there an older build available? I'll gladly test some with that.

I did manage to capture some logging with missed alarms, will forward that to support@deja, just in case it helps.

p.s. v4 style alarms are not supposed to popup are they? that's v2 style, v4 lives in notification area

If you to revert to an older version follow this link

Scroll down to the version you want and download it. You may need enable "Unknown Sources " in security settings on your device before you can install your download.

Yeah, but via release-note is bit to much of a rollback for me I had a 627 build stored, running that now. We'll see if that works ok or if it's indeed a problem with android 4.4.4

I'm still on release 643 but have had a couple of alerts not activating at all until I turn screen on. E.g. alarm set for 8:40 doesn't ring/trigger, when I turn screen on to look at 8:43 *then* the alarm sounds and has a notify icon left-top.

That notify icon is odd, because I'm set for Android v2 alarm style. Unfortunately I didn't have logging on at the time (this is why I asked for more sticky logging option) so can't report much more on it.

Had the same issue last night on my phone running 4.1.2 and build 645. Alarm due at 22.00 did not sound until I opened phone to do something else. This was on a recurring event, so not sure if that is significant.

Ok cecil, let's try again. We put a new beta up:

Download the DejaOffice app for Android phones and tablets

Try this, and see if it fixes the alarm problems. It was related to a user fix a couple months ago for Android 4.4 phones can slip in their notifcation times. This new patch undoes the change UNLESS you select the new Alarm setting to adjust whether it will compensate for notification lag. Keep this off.

Just tested beta build 648. Android 4.1 notifications are working fine on my Nexus.

However on the Samsung S3 mini Android 4.1 notifications do not work properly.

This is no problem because if I switch to Android 2.0 notifications the alarms are working as they should.
