    Copying contact to other contact manager?

    On my phone, I use True Dialer as my primary phone application and the combination of Deja Office / Companion Link to ensure that my contacts and calendar are sync'ed between my PC and my phone. I recently created a new contact on the phone, within True Dialer, but I have no idea what I should do no to get this new contact into Deja Office or the default contact app so that I can have it be copied to my computer. Please offer some suggestions - thanks!

    Groston,

    Typically when you create a new contact, there is an option to set the "Contact Account". This is the internal layer that the contact is being saved to. In the contact edit Panel you might see this currently set to "Phone" or a Google Account, if you tap this there should be other options and among them should be DejaOffice. If you set this as your contact account, then DejaOffice syncs with the PC it should pull it into the DejaOffice app and sync it back to the PC database.

    To confirm the DejaOffice "Native Sync" is enabled, in the DejaOffice Settings > Sync Settings > Check the "Sync with Android Contacts App" is enabled. Just to note, we only support the native "Contacts" app to place\pull contacts from. Most third party dialers still use the default "Contacts" app of the Android itself. However, if this app keeps a separate store of contacts, we would not be able to access them.

      Thank you, but...
      The setting you mentioned has been set as you indicated for quite a while. In the dialer app settings, under contacts, there is a page called 'Contact to Display' and DejaOffice is checked. However, when I look at contacts in the dialer app, I see the one I recently added; when I look in the default contacts app, I see the one I recently added; however, I do not see it in DejaOffice. What's going on?

        Groston,

        Check this for me:

        1. Open DejaOffice on the device, tap Settings, tap Sync settings.
        2. Ensure Sync with Android Contacts App is enabled.

        Right below it, without tapping it, what is "Contact Account" set to? And what is "Sync Direction" set to here? Don't change anything yet, just relay the current settings.

        And lastly just to confirm, records sync from the DejaOffice contacts to the "Native" app on changes and adds, but changes\adds From the native app only sync to DejaOffice on a Sync with the PC or tapping the "Read Android Data" button in the main menu. Do you sync DejaOffice with a PC database?

          Sorry about the slow reply.
          Settings:
          * Sync with Android Contacts App: checked (and has been)
          * Native contact sync direction: Two-way
          * Contact Account: DejaOffice

          In terms of sync'ing: Stuff from Outlook gets in DejaOffice and the default dialer, but contact changes I have put into my default dialer to not get into Deja Office, even after I tap the button 'Read Android data'. As such, changes I made via the dialer never get back into Outlook.
