I upgraded to the new CompanionLink as requested for Nov 2021. Ran into problems. Can't sync. Removed DO. Installed DO. Synced. No data. I just removed it again. Installed. Configured. Hit sync. Got all the usual popups, but not syncing. No progress bar on CL dialog. I start the CL dialog before I sync, per earlier directions. Had been working until lately. Now just sits on "Press OK" message. Fortunately, I still use Palm Pilot, so a sync there is ~10s.I should be able to sync several times a day, just like Pilot. I just removed CL from running using Task Manager. Restarted. Can't sync.
DO 4.4.52.1452 fails to sync repeatedly. Reinstall. No change. Droid USB.

It failed again this morning, BUT when I then followed these /specific/ steps, it worked
(CL not resident, because I killed it using Task Manager...don't know yet if this is necessary.)
Open phone (password protected).
Run DO.
Run CL on desktop.
Click Sync.
Plug in phone. Apparently can't have it already plugged in. For the past few weeks, this has caused sync to fail.
Click Sync on phone.
When done, check DO for updated entries, whether phone is still plugged in or not. I usually don't have it plugged in, though I do plug it in several times daily for other reasons.
Apparently very sequence-oriented, at least on my system.
I had even removed and installed DO on my phone 2X, and that didn't fix my problem. Probably made it worse, because when I looked at the permissions after installing, mass storage was not granted.
Windows 11
Palm 4.1.4
CompanionLink Build 9050
Android 12
DejaOffice 4.4.61.1717
Mobile Device: Samsung Note 10+
Sync Method: USB

Ninetrees,
For USB sync, you do have to disconnect the cable between syncs. We have tried resolving this, but have not had any luck. Did you see the support ticket email I had sent?
Also, just to note, if you are always syncing in one location IE Home or Work and have Wifi, this is also a local sync just like USB, but it doesn't depend on the cable, the drivers, the connection mode like USB. It can be a bit smoother. Just incase you want to try, here is that guide:

FWIW, these are the steps Thomas and I worked out when I was having problems - but I haven't updated DJO to 4.4.52.1452 yet. I have Palm Desktop 4.2, and an android phone, Samsung Galaxy S10e - doing USB sync.
Close Palm and CompanionLink in computer
Exit and completely close DJO in phone (tap on the symbol for open apps and close it there too)
Unplug phone from computer (USB cable)
Then do in this order:
Start Palm
Start CLO
Start DJO
Start sync in DJO, and wait for it to say it's connecting
Then plug in the phone
At that point the sync starts after a few more seconds
And, when done, tap OK in the phone first, then on the computer
It sounds like a lot to do, but it goes quickly once I got used to it.
