How to change to USB sync?

Here I am again, needing to use USB sync for the summer. I followed the instructions below from 2021, which also worked in 2022. It goes through the process but does not actually sync them. Restarting the phone didn't help.

In the Settings menus, I've done Sync Settings, and then at the top I changed Sync Method to Direct USB.
Below that, settings (which I've never changed, at least for years) are:
Sync with Android Contacts App - not checked
Native Contact Sync Direction - never
    Contact Account - Deja Office
Sync DO contact categories... - not checked
    Synchronize Notes - checked

What I saved in 2021, which I think also worked in 2022, is -
Close all, and close other apps in phone
    Unplug phone
    Start Palm,
    then CLO
    Open DJO
    Start sync
    Plug in phone LAST
    Can see/hear phone react;
sync starts on count of 7 or so

      Marjorie,

Thomas is on vacation for a few weeks. If you email tech support one of the techs will help you.

Solved with their suggestion - do a reread of both the PC and phone. Actually did it twice, and has worked properly since.
