Issue with the contact alpha scroll being too small

... is not solved in latest beta. In fact it's worse than before. I now have a blank space on the right side of the contact listing leaving less room for the data and the scroll button that appears is still tiny small and can not be used.
When will the fonts size issue in contact detail addresses be fixed?

    Hi McLion

Have you noticed when you tap on the right hand side of the contacts list a large letter will appear in the centre of the screen, this changes as you slide up and down the screen. When you lift your finger the list jumps to the letter highlighted on the screen. If there is not enough space left on the right side it is difficult to carry out this scrolling action without opening a contact.

I do agree that the font for the first line of an address in contact details is much larger than the rest of the address and has been for some time.

      Hi Cecil,

I haven't really noticed this before. Thanks for the heads-up.
However, about 20% of the width of the contact list is now white and unused. If that's the case for the new sliding style, I want back the older one. The slider that appeared before covered about the same width that is now just blank and could be slided up and down while being displayed over the text. The same should be possible now as well.

Btw. .. the large letter appearing isn't really large. In fact, I think its much too small and should be really large.

I agree it could be larger to make it obvious.

There are quite a few undocumented feature now in DJOA. There needs to be an update of the DJOA Classroom soon to reflect all the new features.

Translations should be updated too. Some time ago, I did some of the German translations. Since then, I offered to do it again many times ... nobody seems to be interested at Deja / Companionlink. The German/English mixed interface in disappointing for the customer and (IMHO) embarrassing for Deja.

McLion this is probably an Android 2.3 issue. I'll have the team check with the older phone.

When we compile, we use a compatibility mode setting. We find that Google is not always supporting older models as well, hence the issues. I'm not sure if there is a way around it, since we are fully compiled now for Android 4 and higher.

              McLion-

Regarding the Alpha Scroll on the contacts list on a 2.3 device, we are seeing that the alpha list's font is reduced when a keyboard is activated, however we are not seeing this affect the functionality with selecting and dragging the scroll.

Can you send us a screenshot of the issue you are seeing on your device? Please send the screenshot to support@dejaoffice.com and reference your forum user ID and the topic. I'll take a look at the problem from there.

I find the alpha scroll works fine on my phone when the keyboard is showing but is very difficult to use when the keyboard is hidden. I am sure it was easier to use on the last version.

                  Version 656 Alpha Scroll

Just tried out alpha scroll on my Nexus Tablet not working too well very difficult to "pick up" the scroll. You either open a contact or miss all together.

Of course it does. As you can see in my posts, the issue exists on Android 2.3.x and not on Android 4.4.

Just downloaded the latest in-house version 661. The alpha scroll seems to be better. On the Samsung S3 mini there is still some spare space on the right hand side. Perhaps this a screen resolution issue rather than the Android version.
