droid DO can't find database after USB sync...was working, then stopped

    Windows 11
    Android 12
    Palm 4x
    DejaOffice 4.4.61.1717
    CompanionLink Build 9050
    Storage location (new)

    tried different USB ports
    cleared CL cache
I do all the usual steps

    Strange messages:
    Different device...why?
    Can't find my database...why?
It seems to be using Documents\DejaOffice..
I have a backup from days ago in a different dir, so apparently it can write to that, and it is sticking empty database zip files there, now, too.
I am used to jumping through hoops to get a sync to run, but it was going pretty well for a long while.
I have tried all the optional configurations I can think of.
The progress bar shows all data getting copied...then when I restart, no data.

    Sync Method: USB

I see from similar posts that there is no reply expected here from the staff. I wrote that I had CL 9050, but I really had 10x. At any rate, a few days ago, I removed CL from the laptop and upgraded to 11x. I was then able to do a sync, though I don't recall what steps led up to it after installing 11x on my laptop. Had to config DO on droid and CL on W11. Then I did my usual steps. This morn, I what appears to be the 2nd successful sync, though I note that my colors don't match the laptop.

Ninetrees, I apologize as I meant to remind you on Friday.

This weekend was a holiday here in the US.

So no one has been in the office since you posted. We are feeling refreshed and will reply today.

USB Sync is pretty simple. If the PC sees the file, the software on the PC can act on it. If the PC cannot act on it, then the PC cannot see the file.

Here is the USB Sync troubleshooting guide:

        Ninetrees,

USB sync works by copying the database to the PC, updating it, then copying it back. If the PC, still has "Hold" of the database when you try to access it, the phone won't have permission to the file and will be unable to access it.

Once a USB sync completes, before checking any data, be sure to disconnect the USB Cable. Once disconnected, then try accessing the data and see if it resolves the issue.

I could also recommend Wifi or Bluetooth sync, these are local syncs just like USB but do not rely on the method of copying the database file, they just update it directly, and don't have to worry about Drivers\Cables, Etc.
