Lost Wi-Fi Syncability After Windows Rebuild

I have reinstalled CL 7030 and am on build 947 on the handheld.

Windows 10 Pro.

Running WiFi on a 5G a/n connection, on channel 153.

I can ping the handheld from my PC.

But I can not pair, and when I put in the address and name of the device in CL, it won't find/sync.

Wi-Fi calling is off.

I've been traveling between two different networks with the same PC and device; I don't recall, honestly, the last time I synced successfully at this location. I do know I did a clean reinstall of Windows yesterday...

What else can I try?

Turns out it's not limited to the initial router. I just attempted on my "home" network to no avail. Would not pair.

Can you confirm that you can successfully connect to the internet over wi-fi on the PC at both locations.

I had a problem recently with a laptop which would not connect to the internet at my mother's house. After some googling I found that some routers needed the default channel changed to work after a W10 update.

What version of Companionlink are you using?

The handheld is a Note Edge running 6.0.1, trying to sync to PD 4.2... Will try CL forum as well.

Boy this forum has gotten quiet!

For giggles, I uninstalled CL and redownloaded. Works now - perhaps something went screwy with initial firewall rules.

What was weird was I would have sworn I had the most up-to-date version with 7030, but it was 7032 on the website with the Oct 2016 timestamp so that probably was it.

Glad you found a solution to your problem. One off problems like yours are the hardest to answer. There are a few very experienced users on this forum who like me are keen to help when they can.

Quiet forum is a good sign. It means that most people are not having problems!
