Size of log.txt file

The log.txt file jumped up in size a few weeks ago which is affecting the size of a little backup of most important files that I do daily. It's about 8 MB now. Is there a setting or something that I can do to reduce its size? It seems to just have data from 12/20 to 12/24, so it isn't changing. Is it okay to just delete it?

You can just delete the txt file.
