Changing sync method from WiFi to USB

Here I am again, about to switch to USB syncing for the summer (no choice, I'm away from WiFi for the summer, same as past years). Has anything been changed in DJO or CLO since last November that would affect resetting DejaOffice and CompanionLink for USB syncing? Anything I need to do on either side to prepare for it, besides first backing up my databases from both Palm and DJO?

My notes from last year were:
    -------------------------------
set both for USB sync -
DJO - do Setup wizard, then verify in Settings/Sync

*** If changing sync methods, check whether DJO is set to reread everything!
(maybe I meant to say check that in CLO)

    ================================================== ========================
connect cable for phone to computer
    Palm, CLO, and DJO open

    phone still on charging
    1. tap Sync in DJO, THEN switch to file transfer AFTER it says connecting to PC
    2. when done, first change from file transfer to charging ("disconnect" phone)
    then tap OK in phone/DJO
    last do OK in CLO
    -------------------------------

    Thanks,
    Marjory

    Marjory,

Aside from making backups (which is always a good practice), nothing should have changed that would effect a re-sync via USB.

Thanks - it went very well, though I was concerned when it seemed to be rereading every calendar item. But it definitely didn't reread the other 3 categories, and I probably had made a lot of calendar changes in the several days that I was using only DJO.

I'd forgotten since last summer how easy the USB sync is with my S10 phone, as it it's always set for USB file transfer whenever it's plugged in to the computer. With the older S5, after I started a sync I had to watch the messages and tell it to switch to file transfer, and also switch it off afterwards. So my notes in the first post were for the S5 which I still had at that time.
