How to avoid double entries with outlook sync and google sync ????

    Hi,

i bought Companionlink to be able to synchronise my Work Outlok database via USB cable.

It works fine. However, as a also want to have the data in the Google Calendar, this leads to double entries.

After syncing (with purge and reload) for the first time - and disabling Google Sync while doing it - , i have all data in companionlink deja office and in the android apps calender and contacts. However, in order to get it inti the cloud google calender, i have to switch on the sync again.

Then i have all entries twice, once in the "PC Sync" calendar and once in the Google Calandar account. When i sync again, these double entries go into my outlook calendar!

    Is there a way to:

1.) Sync Companionlink with Outlook via USB and
2.) Get the synced contact and calendar data via Google ANdroid Sync in the Gogle Calendar(tasks and notel would be great, but as the native android calender does not support it, i guess this is difficult)
    3.) Without having double entries?

Maybe I am to stupid to select the right settings or is this impossible?

    Thanks for any help,

    R. Schubert

The larger issue is that Google Information will not handle all our Outlook recurring types.

A better solution might be to use CompanionLink to go to Google. Then sync Google to your phone. Use Google as the "hub" where Outlook is on one side and your phone on the other side.

It is true that if you send the same information two different ways, you risk two copies of the information on the phone. The key is to pick one sync system and only one.

I know that syncing Outlook via Companionlink to Google would be the best, unfortunately the Companionlink software does not pass through our company proxy.

So i am stuck with the way via USB sync to Android and then inti Google, which will not work, right?

Actually we can do a lot more without Google. Although Google has "custom fields" they are not yet sent to any phone. But with our direct sync custom fields can be sent which means you can have more data. Also Google imposes size limits and a limit on total number of contacts. Both note sizes and also number of records with the Direct (USB) or Wi-Fi sync is unlimited.

Google is not Microsoft. The two companies are rivals. So it is not surprising that they haven't prioritized handling data like Outlook. Here at DejaOffice we feel the data management of the PC data is cleaner with Google out of the picture.

Thanks for the detailed and fast answer! I really like your detailed sync with Outlook. I just wished i could get the date via google into my Mac and Ipad at home.

Another question: No offense, but the dejavu look and feel on android are not really state of the art - and a widget which could show also the notes and tasks is really lacking as this is not included.

Are there any Plans for a widget soon?
