Is there a setting for appts to "drop off"

I am a long-time Palm user, getting used to DJO and Outlook. Question -- do I have to "complete" all my appts somehow to avoid having my file grow to enormous sizes over time?

As a therapist, my style is to set most appts as "recurring forever". I don't need for the phone to keep a history for me, or the Outlook either, since my billing program unfortunately doesn't interact with anything and I have a separate calendar there.

I am using the phone as my "primary", and the Outlook really just for backup.

So do I need to do something to get rid of old appts? What would be "best practice" in this situation?

Right now, the best system is to have them drop off the PC by Archiving. The next sync will drop them off the phone.

Thank you. I'm drawing a blank right now. How to I do that?

Edit -- now I realize, you must be talking about archiving them in Outlook. However, I am not synching 2 way at this time. Guess I will need to backup everything once in awhile, and then do that.
