Not possible? I had been led to believe that it was possible to sync an iPod Touch or iPhone with the palm desktop via USB. But the setup options in CompanionLink only include Palm Pre and Android.
Apple doesn't let us access the iPhone/iPod Touch directly through the USB port, so the only way to sync the iPod Touch via USB is to sync Palm Desktop data to Outlook. From there, Apple offers support within iTunes to read Outlook contacts and calendar.
CompanionLink recently introduced a local Wi-Fi sync option for Apple devices. Wi-Fi sync works through your local in-home/office wireless router, and allows for a full sync of contacts, calendar, tasks and notes/memos directly from Palm Desktop to DejaOffice on the iPhone/iPod Touch. CompanionLink can also sync via Google or using our own wireless sync service ($10/month). Take a look at all sync options for Apple products at www.companionlink.com/iphone
