    DejaOffice:1.4.2 & CompanionLink: 5058

Syncing used to be painfully slow...then a few versions ago...not sure which end is responsible...things got /much/ better...

I don't trust DO and CL the way I used to trust my Palm sync program, and have found too many errors when I simply sync, so I have been erasing the iTouch for each sync. For many months now, this has gone reasonably fast.

Now it is back to painfully slow...about 1 contact per second! I can sit and watch it slowly update. So I just put it down and walk away for 5-10 minutes! This is something that should take //maybe// a minute.

What's up? Is it the new update to iOS? I even deleted the app from the iTouch and reinstalled it.

    I just installed
    DejaOffice: 1.4.3
and deleted DO and reinstalled DO.
The sync now goes as quickly as I expected, taking about a minute to complete.

Ninetrees, we have discussed this with the team. Please be sure you are updated to CompanionLink build 5058 (current release) because there are some changes to how Re-Read was handled with iOS Wi-Fi.

Our thinking, however, is that nothing has changed. We think the slow/fast that you are seeing is related to Wi-Fi and your local hub. That whether it is faster or slower is simply a factor of how your hub is working at a given time. When it is slow, you might try resetting your hub to see if it goes faster.

We have vastly improved DejaCloud sync for iOS devices. This is a sync system that is no longer dependent on using the Wi-Fi Router to mediate the sync. You may want to try it to see if speeds improve.
