    User Guide for Repeating Tasks?

I'm running Deja Office 1.5.4 on my iPod Touch, and make extensive use of repeating tasks. I'm generally very happy with them, BUT don't know how to set up a task to repeat in unusual ways, such as 2nd and 4th Monday of each month, or weekly on Tuesday and Friday -- in short, I feel a strong need for a User Guide for repeating tasks. Is there any such animal in existence? If so, can you point me at it? [NOTE: I forgot to update my signature -- I'm now running CompanionLink Build #6001.0]

Bob, I wish we had the bandwidth to make a guide.

Recurring tasks is new since August 2013. I know we are still making changes to it.

For DejaOffice iPhone, the pattern is set by your Due Date. So if you make a due date of October 15th, and then say "Monthly by Day", then it will look at the day location in the month. October 15th is in the 3rd week and is a Tuesday. So "Monthly by Day" will continue to occur on the 3rd Tuesday of every month. Monthly by Date will occur on the 15th of each month.

    I hope this explanation helps.

Can't set a yearly-by-date task repeat. This is a new problem for me, which seems to fall into this thread. I've posted a task with due date today, July 1, 2014, which I wish to repeat every year on July 1. I set the recurrence to Yearly by Date and saved the task. I now have an entry with due date 7/1/2015, which is OK. BUT the "Every" field reads "Every 0th December 1st" !! (Why December? Why 0th?). If I try to edit the "Every" field, I get a screen which allows only numbers. So far, I haven't found any magic move to set that field the way it should be. What's the deal??

bhutton - Thanks for reporting this. It is indeed a bug in yearly-by-date recurring tasks. It's fixed in DejaOffice 1.7.3, which should be on the App Store sometime early next week.

In the meantime, here's a work-around you can use:

        1. Add a start date for the task and then save.
        2. After saving, go back into the task and re-select the recurring info.
        3. Save again.

The recurring info should correct itself at this point (it will recur yearly based on the start date you set in step 1).
