    Why is DJOI so slow?

First of all I want to say, that there are constant improvements of Deja Office, which is really appreciated!

Thank you very much for all that effort!

With one of the last Updates, I noticed: One can now in "Memos" in the Editing Mode, set the Cursor, and it will do two things: It will pull up the IOS Keyboard AND set the Cursor at that position, where one has just clicked - in the good old Palm days, that was natural: Not even mentioned!

But a big Problem is still, that when one exits the Editing Mode, it goes right to the Top of the List of Memos in that Category, instead of staying at that Point in the List where the just edited Memo was!

This was just by the way......

I really want to ask this Question: "Why is Deja Office so slow?"

Ok, I have a certain amount of Data (+- 2400 Memos, +- 1700 Contacts, and +- 3500 calendar Entries) but on the Palm T3 more than 10Years ago I had almost double the amount of Data with a much slower CPU, Processor, Ram - and it was much less developed and advanced etc.

But when one selected something that time, the Palm would immediately respond! Now, for instance in DJOI Memos if I just change from one certain category to "All" categories, it takes 14.5 sec to respond!

A search on the Palm would always be a "Global search" meaning: Searching ALL words in ALL your "PIM data" (contacts, calendar, tasks, and memos) and would take at the most 3 to 4 sec.

    Now:
    - To do a Simple Search in ONE category in Memos with DJOI takes about 4 Sec.

    - To do the same Search in ALL Memo Categories will first need the above mentioned 14.5s to switch to ALL categories and then another 5s to do the "ALL CATEGORIES MEMO SEARCH"

But then one hasn't searched all of the other PIM Data and I don't know, how much time that would take!

    Conclusion:
If the IOS from Apple is so Clumsy and got so much Spyware and "What not-ware" to run in the Background all the time, that it can't even do the basic stuff for one, WHY DON'T YOU PEOPLE JUST DEVELOP YOUR OWN DEVICE, THAT WILL JUST BE SIMPLE, OFFLINE, PIM-DATA ONLY AND WILL DO WHAT EVERYONE NEEDS AND THAT IN GOOD TIME?

I'm sure; Millions would buy it and would be very, very happy!

If that is asking too much, please name me a Device on which DJO runs that will do a LITTLE BETTER than that!

PalmOS - 14.5 seconds to load the list is definitely not an acceptable time. It should be waaaaaay quicker than that. For example, here are the results of my own test, which I did just now in the office:

=== Memo list load time, 2400 records ===

iPhone 4, iOS 7.0.4 -- Initial load time (e.g. immediately following a synchronization): ~3.25 seconds
iPhone 4, iOS 7.0.4 -- All subsequent load times: ~0.6 seconds

iPhone 5s, iOS 7.0.4 -- Initial load time (e.g. immediately following a synchronization): ~1 second
iPhone 5s, iOS 7.0.4 -- All subsequent load times: ~0.2 seconds

    =====

Try the following steps, and report back as to whether or not it affects the speed:

    1. In DejaOffice, open the Categories app.
    2. On the title bar, tap and hold the "Categories" title text for two seconds. The hidden debug screen should open when you let go.
    3. Scroll down to the DejaMemos section.
    4. Tap "Purge Deletes". This may take a few minutes to complete.
    5. Repeat step 4 in each of the sections "DejaContacts", "DejaCal", "DejaTasks".
NOTE: Steps 4 and 5 will NOT delete any of your existing data; they'll just clean up the database.

Once you've done the steps above, try loading DejaMemos again and see if it's any quicker. If not, let me know and we'll take additional steps to get it running better for you.
