    Phone numbers

I'm looking for a possible solution that would add the digit 1 preceding my phone numbers currently listed as (***) ***~****. Using an iPhone 5 and MS Outlook on a PC.
Thanks for looking and would appreciate any feedback.

BillD - Do your phone numbers in Outlook include the preceding 1? For example, do they appear in Outlook as "1 (555)555-5555"?

No, that is the issue I'm facing. Over the last few years, with most of the MS Outlook contacts I created, the phone number field was filled in as just the 10 digit number, the brackets appear by default around the leading 3 digits.
Subsequently all the phone number fields are the the same (555) 555-5555 format. A global correction to add "1" to the beginning would be an ideal solution!!

BillD, the format in Outlook doesn't actually matter. So don't worry about that. I'll talk to Ben also because he is not aware of how Outlook handles numbers.

Are you in Canada where 1 is needed to dial long distance?

Are you using CompanionLink Sync? In CompanionLink, go to Settings, and under Outlook Settings look for the "Advanced" button. On Advanced, look for Phone Format.

        Set the following values:

US Phone format - Off (Uncheck)
Sync all country codes - On (Check) - This will force country codes for all numbers. The country code for US and Canada (actually North America including Caribbean Islands) is 1, so this causes 1 to be added to all the numbers.

Do a Wipe from the PC, and see if that updates your numbers the way you like.

          Doctors,
appreciate the info, yes in Canada. Not quite sure about "wipe from PC". Are you referring to a setting or function within the companion link software -- prior to a sync??
          thanks again
