DJO on Iphone crashes when trying to Sync with PC CRM

    Hi,

yesterday I bought the licence for the PC CRM Standalone, but every time when trying to sync my Iphone SE with the PC CRM Standalone, the DJO on the Iphone crashes.

I had loaded the Data on the Iphone DJO from a backup and the same Data onto PC CRM Standalone via the local USB Sync.

When trying to Sync between the two, DJO on the Iphone just crashes shortly after starting the sync.

My 2. Question would be: How could one delete all the Data on PC CRM Standalone? There don't seem to be an Option for that.

Thanks in advance for your help, I have emailed a Log of the PC CRM Standalone to Support

PalmOS welcome back to the forum.

Please download CompanionLink from this link:

This will push the CL version up to B9020 which may be needed for DejaOffice for iPhone.

I'm afraid on the iPhone we had a number of changes with the sync that were pushed this week, and some may be interfering with old builds and different sync methods. For any problems on iPhone, try turning off sync to Apple Contacts, Calendar and Tasks (In DJOI - Settings, Sync Settings, and then on the lower part make sure all three options are unchecked), Our changes were required because of a library deprecation by Apple with regard to the native databases. Later when all is working you can turn Apple sync back on.

    ****

To delete all records in the contact table, you can hit Ctrl-A on the list to select all records, then hit delete.

To Delete the whole data file got to Settings, Database settings, select the first button which opens the DejaOffice folder. Then while the folder explorer is open get completely out of DejaOffice. From the folder you can delete the database file DejaOffice.DB or you can delete the whole folder which would remove the data file and all settings.

If you remove just the database file, the next time you open DejaOffice PC CRM it will create a new one automatically.

We will have staff here on Monday to help if the USB sync is still a problem with iPhone.

Thank you, DJOCTO! Good to see you too!

After Reading your Post, I did what you said and it worked like a charm!

Before I carry on: About what you said concerning Apple Contacts etc:
For any problems on iPhone, try turning off sync to Apple Contacts, Calendar and Tasks (In DJOI - Settings, Sync Settings.....)
      - That's the first thing I always disable anyway!!

Because the bottom Line is: you must either work with Apple for you PIM Data OR with DJO but never with BOTH!

Another Problem that you People please need to fix on DJOI for the Iphone:
Since your Last Update I cannot sort the View of my Memos anymore:
If I click on Memos, Settings, View Settings, Sort: I find selected is "Sort by most Recent" and if I want to change that to "Sort by Title" it goes out of this Dialog, does nothing and if I reopen that Dialog, it is still set to: "Sort by most Recent"
... hope I did the right thing by starting a new Thread in the correct Forum: DejaOffice for iOS (DJOI) - iPhone. iPad

For anyone interested, here is what I did:

      1. After installing "DejaOffice PC CRM" on my PC (or for that matter started afresh by deleting the DejaOffice.DB file) I loaded the Backup that I had created on my Old Iphone in DejaOffice onto the DejaOffice on my new Iphone.

Interesting Fact: I failed to load the Data onto the PC (DejaOffice PC CRM) by simply plugging in my old phone and trying to sync it with the PC after I played a bit with the different Sync Settings in "DejaOffice PC CRM".

      2. Concerning the Sync Settings:
      - In the Dialog Box: Sync Settings, Mobile Phone or Tablet: iPhone/iPad via USB
      - Then the Dialog box that comes up if you click on Settings below that:
      a) General: Personal Category -> Do you want to synchronize items from the Personal category? -> uncheck
(Question: What is that anyway? Is that the Apple Personal Data or the native Category in DJOI named "Personal"?? - I dont have any Data in that DJOI Category, but created all my own Categorys.)
      b) Calendar: I made sure to specify how many days of calendar Data I would like to synchronize, which in my case is about from the Year 2001. That means: 20Years x 365Days/Year = 7300 Days
      c) Applications: Data Types to Sync: for all four Sections (Contacts, Calendar, Tasks, Notes) I left it as: "Iphone to DejaOffice PC CRM"

The Rest I left virtually unchanged except for under Phone Format, which one should change to ones own preferences about Prefixes of Telephone numbers in the US etc.

Following that I hit the Sync Button on the Phone and it did everything as I wanted and transferred all my Data to the PC (DejaOffice PC CRM)

There are still a few hick-ups and questions that come up as I am starting to use it, but I'm sure that will be solved in time!

Moral: Always make use of the Function "Back up Database" on your Smartphone! That will take ALL your Stuff to a safe place and you can always start afresh or transfer it easily to another Phone!

After I did some minor changes on the Phone and performed a few Syncs the DJOI on the phone crashes at the End of the Sync.

In addition to that the DJOI App started to hook when performing simple edit operations in Memo.
