    Roadmap

Have just checked the Roadmap again, and under 9. I see that you are wondering about using Whatsapp as the free API for sending SMS. How about this app - MySMS (mysms) ?
It's a great replacement for the native Android sms messaging app, I'm not a techie, but who knows, it could fit the ticket.
I feel it would be better not to get entangled with WA, which after all belongs to Facebook, which doesn't have the best of reputations for respecting privacy or personal data, to put it mildly.
So far DJO and Companionlink have done a great job of preserving their independence and all aspects of GDPR. May this continue for very long. These unusual times are marked also be unusualy aggressive marketing efforts by various parties.

Thanks and again, much praise for all your great work and responsivness to your cuustomers' needs and requests for support and help

My vision is to have SMS tied to Corporate Phone number. A customer sends a text, and it gets picked up both in DejaOffice PC CRM and also DejaOffice for iPhone/Android. You can reply on any platform. The customer gets the reply. The convo becomes a permanent part of the customer history.

Whatsapp has the WA Business API - which would allow us to do some of this.

I looked briefly at MySMS but it looks like they just do what we already do with phone calls - use your existing cell phone number, and not your Corporate phone number. So for their PC interface they transfer to cell phone to text. We already can dial your cell phone from the PC. So sending the SMS is not a big stretch here. And this would work great for people who use one line- Cell phone IS the Corporate phone.

There are services that can handle the Corporate phone SMS but they start at $30 per month and sometimes $1 per SMS which is more than our customers are going to do. We would get like 3 people using it but that's all.

So my heart is in trying to solve this in a Small Business - Corporate Phone - sort of way and not just single users.

Thanks for the detailed explanation - I understand that it's meant for Business rather than individuals.
That's fine, since we have so many different apps for text messaging, it's not necessary for us individuals or very small businesses to have this included in DJO (or the desktop version).

I am very happy with the DJO PC version, it has grown and matured so incredibly in the past months !
What I'm still missing is the syncing of templates and expenses entered in my main handheld device.
But I'm sure wit will come soon .

Many thanks again, for all the good work, bon courage, stay well and safe !
