Global Search/find command

I don't see a way to do a global find/search - like the Palm and Palm Desktop always had.
This would really help when I'm searching for something and don't recall whether the text is part of a task, contact, calendar, or Notes item.

on my HTC I have a search button. If I press this I get a search field at the top of the screen; I am then given the option of searching any of the 4 sections of DJO; I cannot find a way of doing this without the hard search button...
