No longer able to SEND EVENT via Messaging

I used to be able to send calendar events to my hubby via text message. That option is no longer available to me (only Drive, Email, Gmail, Sned by LAN, and Skype). What am I doing wrong??

    Sopha-

Does the issue continue if you update to our latest DejaOffice Beta? On your device, visit the link below to download and install the 3.1.2 Beta version (Red Button) of DejaOffice.

Download the DejaOffice app for Android phones and tablets

Also, what app did you previous use to send text messages? i.e. the native "Messaging" app or something else like "Hangouts", etc?

Let us know if any issues continue.

I uninstalled 2.5.2 and installed the 3.1.2 Beta, and still no go with sending a contact via Messaging (the native Messaging app).

I just tried it on my husband's phone. He's running DejaOffice 2.5.9 with android 2.3.4. It works perfectly fine on his - his options are Email, Gmail, Text Messaging.

          Sopha-

Thanks for your patience on this. We're currently seeing the same issue on some of our devices inhouse as well. We don't control which apps becomes available to send calendar events directly so our development department will need to look into this a little more. Different phones appear to have different options available. What make/model device are you currently seeing this issue on? We are mostly seeing this occur on Nexus devices.

          Thanks.

This one I think was a change in whatever messenger app you are using (or no longer using).

DJOA goes to share the calendar by making a vcal file, and tells the system to let the user select an app that is registered to receive “text/x-vcalendar” data. On the phone I have, I see options for Drive, Email, and Gmail for that type. If this ever existed for Messenger, then maybe the messenger app the user is using was updated and no longer supports that file type. Or maybe the user switched messenging apps (or switched phones, manufacturers may be installing their own, different, messenging apps by default).

Looking at the stock Google “Hangouts” app, it is registered to receive “text/x-vcard” (contact files), “text/plain” (probably just text data), and “image/*” (image files). So we could send those types as attachments in that messenging app.

Looking at a different phone, I see the “Messenger” app it came with (not “Hangouts”), and it is registered to receive “text/plain” and “image/*” only. So also does not support events.
